Why don't we have a wager on who's going out tonight? First poster in the thread to guess right wins (and you are not allowed to say more than one name, OKAAY?).

The lucky winner will be presented with a holiday for one in Blackpool*.

I'll give you all a shout again before it starts. Unless I forget. In which case apologies in advance.

*Travel, expenses, food and accomodation not included. Winners may exchange prize for either a signed copy of Christopher Biggins' autobiography or the actual bra worn by Ann Widdicombe on Strictly last Saturday.

Did anyone notice one of the chairs in the boardroom suddenly became vacant when all the womens team were in debating what went wrong. It was the asian lady's chair who disagreed with the exclusivity issue (I forget her name). Where did she go and is that normal? I felt sorry for Joy when Joanna and Laura walked out without saying goodbye. I thought that was just downright nasty and unecessary

scottishmummy · 13/10/2010 22:44

who is carol thatcher.is she pretty?karrenis cutie

MollieO · 13/10/2010 22:45

They all seem very bitchy this year, boys included.

poshsinglemum · 13/10/2010 22:45

Joy was in my physics set at school. She was so gobby and frankly evil at school. What's happenbed? She's changed. The other girls must have been HORRENDOUS.
A bit gutted she's gone as wanted to see her in proper Joy action.

sharbie · 13/10/2010 22:53

my mum tells me joy is from down here - did you go to school down south poshsinglemum?

The refusing exclusivity thing could have gone either way. She should have defended it by saying it could have invalidated other sales to accept it - this happened to a group in a previous year.

sharbie · 13/10/2010 23:54

yh i thought that too uqd - i just feel a bit meh so far by this series.seems too staged and they don't say anything that positive about anyone.for one its def more about entertainment that good business sense.the contestants don't seem v switched on.i wd like to see more realistic candidates.

TandB · 14/10/2010 07:55

I am glad I wasn't the only one yelling "comfortability?!!!" at the screen.
Why can't they look up what words mean before they try to use them - especially if they have more than one syllable?
There was one point where someone said something completely random (can't remember what) when they clearly meant "potential".
And I think "consumer..um.. happiness" was my personal favourite,

MortBlacksand · 14/10/2010 08:15

Leader of girls should have gone. You just don't turn down Boots - who would have prob pinkified it and we'd be getting it through on our one a day regular emails from Boots next year but even so....

NigellaPleaseComeDineWithMe · 14/10/2010 09:24

The reson why the other girls didn't think much to Joy and that SA fired her was due to her awful dress sense - even ont he aftermath programme the dress was even worse.

Yes - on the task the one that turned down exlusivity failed the task.

FindingMyMojo · 14/10/2010 10:26

OMG what a complete disaster all round. I did think it was unfair that Joy was scapegoated here. Should have been the steamroller shouty one, or the 'no-exclusive deal thanks BOOTS' project manager.

Bunch of banshees. I did think the pep-talk they were given by right-hand-lady-Karen was incredibly patronising. They'd never give the men that speech. Sure they needed a talking to as they were badly behaved, but the 'representing business women everywhere argument' was incredibly shameful.

Both products incredibly crap. The girls should have bitten Boots hand off, and the boys 'cool' product was far far far from it.

great TV - especially sandwiched between Masterchef the Professionals & Mad Men. All without advertising. Gee I love the BBC.

RockBat · 14/10/2010 10:48

To be fair, when Debra's group went for exclusivity with whatever they were selling to the pub last year Sralan went ballistic. Maybe she remembered that...or maybe she's just a bit thick :o

NigellaPleaseComeDineWithMe · 14/10/2010 10:54

Its a big difference between exclisivity to a pub / small chain of outlets vs a major high street brand - hence why IMHO it was a sackable offence.

FindingMyMojo · 14/10/2010 11:49

I'm with you Nigella - huge difference.

She should have negotiated limited period of exclusivity (say one year/season) in exchange for solid order. Though the Boots buyer probably would have been sacked or ordering such a pile of poo, the team would still have won.

Merrylegs · 14/10/2010 11:53

Ha! After all Karrren Brraady's big talk about 'women in business' and 'you're all role models' and 'women have it tough' and 'control your emotions' etc and Sugar nodding sagely 'too tru too tru'. And then who does he go and fire? Not the blubby one who cocked up the sales, not the bolshy one who came up with the sorry idea in the first place? But the other one. What was her crime? Oh yes, she was a bit quiet. And perhaps a bit too plain.

FindingMyMojo · 14/10/2010 11:58

Merry that was the first time I really felt like he made a decision based on ratings for the show (keeping in the hot heads) rather than a proper business decision. I guess he could have thought Joy wasn't going to win so she was dispensable, but I thought it was a grossly unfair decision.

ValiumSingleton · 14/10/2010 12:35

I know, it made no sense, it was like 'don't smoke it's bad for you [sparks up and inhales]'

proudnscary · 14/10/2010 12:41

Right can't be arsed to read all of this!

Who guessed Joy and who got their first?

Dittany:

She changed her mind in boardroom
She cried during the task
She thought an exclusive deal with one of the country's biggest retailers was 'jumping the gun'
Her argument for staying was 'they are all really scary and I couldn't control them, it's all their fault'
She cried during the task
She went with the world's worst product of all time ever ever ever amen
She cried during the task AND
She cried during the task
