To actually really dislike being pg?

Don't get me wrong, this was an entirely planned pg and I absolutely can't wait for dc no2 to arrive. But the actual pregnancy part, I hate! I so wish I was one of the ladies that 'glow' and 'blossom' during pg.

Someone please tell me I am being unreasonable and tell me all the good things about being pg as opposed to the fat, tired, spotty, sick aspects of it!!

YANBU
I hated every bloody second of being pregnant. Labour is a piece of piss compared to the nine months before. Even in the early sleep-deprived, sore-nippled, baby-screaming weeks I constantly consoled myself with the fact that he was better out than in!

I fecking hate pregnancy with a passion! I am 16 weeks with dc2 and am pissed off because it is my birthday today and I really don't feel like doing anything except lounging around the flat as I still have nausea most of the time.

I hate the constant wind, the heartburn, the looking fat (no I don't do neat bumps), the spots, the shit, lank hair. I didn't have a bloom in my 1st pregnancy (possibly as I was so ill I ended up in hospital) and it looks like i'm not going to get it with this one either!

I do appreciate that I am lucky to be pregnant, but oh God I can't wait til the baby is here and I don't have to feel like crap anymore. I have already decided this is the last one, NEVER again!!!!!

baronessbomburst - what you have said is basically the only consolation on offer to those of us who are pregnant and fed up - at least labour, no matter how bad it is, is highly unlikely to last for more than say, three days! Can't be as bad all day and all night morning sickness for 20 weeks - would rather have three days of agony than another 20 weeks like that any day. My cousin just had a baby girl and said exactly what you did - compared to pregnancy (unless you are one of those lucky buggers who sails through it) giving birth is a piece of piss - and she had to be induced with a drip, and have forceps and a huge episiotomy.
Only 7 weeks and 4 days till my due date - I am counting the minutes.

You are so NBU!

My DS is 6 weeks old and he's my first. Being a mum is so much better than being pregnant! It was so unpleasant (worth it! But defo horrific!).

I hated every trimester. Had morning (ha - morning, as if) sickness throughout the whole pregnancy. Same with heartburn that felt like it was burning a hole in my chest. SPD made the final 4 months a nightmare. I looked disgusting and felt like a beast.

DS was born 3:10 in the morning. 5pm that evening I was at home, feeling better than I had for the best part of a year, despite stitchs and other post-natal joys!

It hasn't put me off having more but next time I'll be very aware of how being pregnant does not suit me at all!

Yikes! I'm about to start ttc and this thread is bloody terrifying. Please, if you loved being pg, post and say so?!!

sickoftheholidays · 14/08/2010 21:53

Yes, I loved being PG (first time, boy) I was sick only once and that was during labour, my acne got better from the day I got a positive test, all the fat on my arse moved to my belly and I had a lovey basket ball bump. I also had a cleavage to die for. The last 4 weeks were uncomfortable but not overly bad.
But YA SOOOO NBU to say you loathe everything about it, because second time (girl) I was sick from even before my period was due right up until birth, I had spd from 14 weeks, had constant UTI/kidney infections and ended up about 6lb lighter the day I went into labour than the day I found out I was pregnant. It was utter hell for 9 months.

No you are not - I hated it

369thegoosedrankwine · 14/08/2010 22:27

Nope. YANBU. I hated pregnancy so much. I was sick, tired, sore, achy and extremely hormonal throughout. Give me a newborn over being pregnant anyday, even with the lack of sleep.
