Kids are with their dad, I am cooking dinner for me and DP, I have been mad busy all day so AIBU to think I should open the bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge????
It was a birthday gift to me and I think it would go well with the lamb and peppers stuffed with couscous I am making for dinner.

YES or NO

pjmama · 02/08/2010 19:18

Undoubtedly yes.

pjmama · 02/08/2010 19:18

sounds yummy btw, can I come too?

acebaby · 02/08/2010 19:20

Another yes vote here! Sounds better than the sausage and mash washed down with gin that we are planning here

loopyloops · 02/08/2010 19:20

Go for it, no regrets. NOW.

TrillianAstra · 02/08/2010 19:22

Yes, of course. If you save the wine for 'an occassion' you'll never get around to drinking it.

PurplePillow · 02/08/2010 19:22

Definate YES from me too

PaulineCampbellJones · 02/08/2010 19:23

YES! Sausage and mash but with peach juice here. If I start drinking I will end up in the gutter after the day I have had.

deemented · 02/08/2010 19:23

Yes.

2kids2dogsandahorse · 02/08/2010 19:26

Why are you even asking lol absolutely yes and your dinner sounds lots better than mine (bloody chicken again)

RunawayWife · 02/08/2010 19:26

Pops cork

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 02/08/2010 19:26

theskiinggardener · 02/08/2010 19:27

Yes! Whole point of having such things in the fridge is so they are there when you really fancy them.

Marjee · 02/08/2010 19:36

Yes definitely. Talking about wine has made me want some!

PosieParker · 02/08/2010 19:38

Yes yes yes.

Gigantaur · 02/08/2010 19:39

YABU for needing the verification. when alcohol is involved teh answer is always yes

Rockbird · 02/08/2010 19:39

Yes, or you'll turn out like my mother...

She was given a hugely expensive bottle of champagne which she decided to save for a special occasion. Since she received it she's had;

Both children married
Birth of 4 grandchildren
Her 60th
Dad's 60th
Their 40th anniversary
And the fecking millennium.

And the champers is still waiting...

Portofino · 02/08/2010 19:39

Yes! It was me it would be open already!

RunawayWife · 02/08/2010 19:52

OP posts:
2kids2dogsandahorse · 02/08/2010 20:54

RunawayWife · 02/08/2010 21:06

I only had the one

OP posts:
BootyMum · 02/08/2010 21:11

Why would you need Mumsnet jury on this one? Sorry, but have to know, are either you or DP members of AA and thus feeling guilty about drinking alcohol? Or are you pregnant? Otherwise I really can't see what your dilemma is??? Enjoy!

RunawayWife · 02/08/2010 21:17

No AA no baby bumps, just thought is it a bit much for a Monday night

OP posts:
pjmama · 02/08/2010 22:54

Ah Monday Shmonday! I've been doing drunken baking tonight. The cake turned out surprisingly well, all things considered!
