And ds is now covered in excema

He had excema as a baby which was made worse by Bold, Fairy and Ecover washing powders but Persil non-bio was fine....and now they've changed it....and sure enough ds has gone scaley and itchy

Anyone else having this problem?

We think that it's Lavender which he is particularly sensitive to - anyone know if surcare (?) has lavender in.

Well, I've spoken to the (very busy) persil advice line - the liquid has not been changed and the Aloe Vera range is also non-bio so might be worth a go.
Advice line woman said that 'bear in mind that it's only just changed and they haven't decided if it's a long term change'...sounds like they might consider changing back.

fairy non bio was the WORST for dd2s skin
closely follwed by persil

fym · 15/05/2008 19:49

I agree Enid - the two we are worst with are persil and Fairy....

This thread explains a lot!!

Wondered why dd1's eczema had suddenly flared up really badly after years of having it under control!

mangojuice · 16/05/2008 14:03

We have switched to Co-Op non bio powder which seems (touch wood) not to aggravate my two dc's excema

twotimes · 17/05/2008 11:33

Hi you could try eco balls, then you wouldn't have to worry about allergens at all.

I'm so pleased to read this thread because I was convinced that the formula of Persil non bio had changed because of the stronger smell but DH couldn't tell any difference and so I was starting to think I had gone mad!! DS's eczema got much worse shortly after I noticed the increased perfume so we have changed to Surcare and he is a lot better. Why on earth they increased the perfume goodness only knows.

Have Persil changed the formula of their washing powders? I purchased a large box of biological powder 'on special offer' from the supermarket recently and it has an overly chemical smell, which is awful. I can't believe how bad it smells.
