I just wanted to let all my lovely friends here know that I will be stepping away from the board for a while.
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer so have a tough year of chemo and surgery ahead.
I am very positive. The surgeon has ahem 'a lot to work with' so I hope that at the age of 60 I will emerge from this with a nice pair of perky pert c cups. Every cloud......
You are all wonderful, I will back to catch up with you all.

That's such good news @Ted27, my mum had metastasized stage three bladder cancer and she was given a 5% chance of making it to 2 years. She had an amazing reaction to the chemo and radiotherapy finished it off and she died 15 years later from a totally unrelated illness (cervical cancer - get your smears done, ladies).

I am channelling my lovely mum and sending her vibes your way.

I am currently reading Cured: The Power of Our Immune System and the Mind-Body Connection by Dr Jeff Rediger - anything is possible! I am very glad you have had such good news!

I had my last chemo this week. Have to be honest its been brutal but hopefully its done its job
I will now be on an injection every 3 weeks and a daily hormone therapy tablet.
It will take a lot of time to recover from the chemo. My cancer is incurable, but treatable. Life has changed forever and Im not sure what Ted27 v2 is going to look like.

If Im honest I fear dementia more than I fear cancer. We all have to die of something but I dont want to spend my final years oblivious to the world and my loved ones.
But there is plenty of life in me yet, lots of things to look forward to over the summer.
My lovely boy has finished his degree and will have his graduation in September so very excited about that

I am glad you will have some time to regain some strength ready to enjoy the celebration in September and that the future is looking different but with positives in it.

Best news for a longtime!So glad you are now through your chemo and you have coped so well. Mind you are a warrior and I am not surprised.

To clarify my book suggestion: I am not sure you know that both my children have severe health issues. The book is written by a Harvard medical doctor and psychiatrist who writes about spontaneous healing, without making unrealistic or unevidenced claims.
