I just wanted to let all my lovely friends here know that I will be stepping away from the board for a while.
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer so have a tough year of chemo and surgery ahead.
I am very positive. The surgeon has ahem 'a lot to work with' so I hope that at the age of 60 I will emerge from this with a nice pair of perky pert c cups. Every cloud......
You are all wonderful, I will back to catch up with you all.
Xx

@Ted27 sending huge hugs & supportive vibes for you & your son💞💞💞💐💐💐

look forward to having you and your words of wisdom back when you are fighting fit again

I’ve supported my mom through breast cancer twice would highly recommend looking into pre chemo detox/clean eating. Really helped her mentally & physically. Only did it for 2 days prior to chemo but made a big difference to her side effects.

take care & all the best

CloudPop · 26/02/2026 15:35

All the best @Ted27- your calm and reasonable posts are always good to read. Very best wishes.

Ted27 · 27/02/2026 17:13

Thank you for all your kind words

Im discovering that cancer is a full time job ! I have so many hospital appointments and I haven't even started chemo yet
I am incredibly tired and starting to feel unwell. Its all a bit surreal really.
I finally told my boy yesterday, which was very hard but we are working through it together.

Hey @Ted27 I don’t ever post, I’m a serial lurker but I’ve been going through the adoption saga for nearly three years now (almost at matching panel) and your advice has been so invaluable! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!

Just a wee update
Unfortunately we have discovered that the cancer beasties have escaped and I have a secondary tumour.
Fortunately its not in my heart, liver or bones so thats good.
Overall the long term outlook is not quite as positive but we are still looking at achieving remission.
After a few false starts I actually had my first chemo session today. The nurses and tea ladies are all lovely. I feel much better knowing that something is now attacking the cancer as opposed to to the wee beastie cells going completely unchecked

Thank you for all your kind messages. They are appreciated very much
