Our beautiful son

This should perhaps be in the bereavement section but I feel such a link with mums and dads on this thread. Our beautiful son died on Sunday he was 21and despite having multiple problems it was so unexpected.
We adopted him when he was 5, he was deafblind and cerebral palsy due to his mother taking vast amounts of crack cocaine and not realizing he had pneumococcal meningitis.
He did so well learning on body sign language enjoying the wind in his face and going over cobbled streets.
Everyone loved him I am totally numb, l must keep going for the other 4 but am heart broken. Sorry to burden you here on this thread but feel you will understand.

I have no idea what to say but I couldn't possibly read this and not reply. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how impossibly heartbreaking it must be to lose a child. You will be in my thoughts x

Mynamenotaccepted · 02/08/2020 21:15

Thankyou so much for your beautiful kind words, he was our life. I feel I must confess here and am sure some of you "oldies" will be aware that three of our other adopted children have also died however they did come with limited life expectancy so as much as it hurt we grieved before they died. Jay's death was totally unexpected and I have still not accepted it. I am so lucky to have 4 other precious adopted children and 3 homegrown children.

Our children are supporting us emotionally even our Down Syndrome 3 and fortunately our youngest daughter has no concept .
Thankyou so much for your support, it has been so cathartic to put it it to words xx
