Just through day 4 post placement with two kids. Oldest (5) has been so controlling today, some biting too, breaking every boundary and we don't have many! Just offloading. Xxx

So, all the missing meltdowns of the past five days rolled into one day 😁. I am trying to remember the fun parts in between!

The heat won't have helped today I don't think.

Things are improving as you have had some meltdown free days.

Keep at it.

It could be anything; might be tired; might be heat; might be he was overwhelmed/exhausted with keeping other days meltdown free...

Hang in there. And as long as he cant tell the time, bedtimes can move forward.

Hey all,

Well, we made it to the end of the Summer holidays, now hoping he survives school tomorrow! Thanks again for your words of wisdom, you really helped us through. Xxx

Well done!

School is amazingly tiring when they're little - plan on doing not much between school and tea, and then fairly early bedtimes if you can, til you see what's what.

I'm sure our teacher hated us for it but we never even did reading practice for ages, because LO just needed to sit and be with me after school.

Your bond is the most important thing at the moment so don't let school/homework get in the way of that.

Fingers crossed for a smooth start (for all of us!) Flowers

He came out of school and said, "I didn't bite and I didn't swear," - hoping he's telling the truth! He seemed happy when he came out but did say it was a long day! He has been challenging tonight - trying to be very controlling and a huge amount of sobbing. He is struggling too as husband was back at work today too and he thought he wasn't coming home. He was back before 6:00pm but I think it felt like forever for him. Cried himself to sleep :(. Hope he feels positive again in the morning. Hope everyone else has had a good start to the term. Xxx
