Adoption

Struggling a bit this weekend

Hi all, I am normally uber positive about my DC, but this weekend has being trying, to say the least.

I can't put my finger on why exactly it was so bad, but it started at 6:45 on Saturday morning when my DS was so hyper he was running about screaming. They won't stop fighting, and I've had to physically deprecate them at least 3 times.

I know a lot of it is just sibling behaviour, and I know how to solve it for next weekend, so I don't really know why I'm posting. I guess I've never felt like actually running away from them before this weekend, and it's shocked me to feel like this Hmm

Having listened to my best friend (and bio mother of 5) vent on numerous occasions, I have concluded that the 'I feel like running away' moments have nothing to do with adoption...they are everything to do with being parents Grin

What about when I want to run away because I have a PAS meeting involving me vs. multiple 'professionals'?

...substitute iep for any meeting you like

Angry

I have just been to Asda and am going to pack DS's tennis bag to whisk him away from school to tennis this afternoon.

I bet Amsterdam hotels are just horrible.

Yes, all the room service, free toiletries and the mini bar is a trial, certainly Grin

I envy people who have grandparents that take their kids for the weekend.

Katie, I was tempted to really really hate you for a second, but now I'm considering a change of tactic. How would it work if I put on my best wheedling voice and begged you to let me come and join you? dp won't mind; I'll sleep in the bath...

I thought about being jealous. But then I noticed she had her Dh with her. You know, wanting attention etc . Which isn't really the point of running away is it?

I don't snore. I'm really really nice to sleep with - so my kids tell me. And the cat. I get NO rest at night - you lot can only be an improvement on what I usually have to deal with.
