Ivf history records?

Will the social worker need to see any ivf fertility treatment records from abroad? Gp here is aware we had a failed private attempt but no real details on the tx so would they want the records from our clinic abroad? Thanks

The SW wont ask to see any of your medical records although will ask about IVF and your general health.

Your GP completes the medical and forwards it to the adoption panel medical advisor who comments on it.

We are part way through the adoption home study and our social worker had just had a chat to me about our fertility treatment. She did not ask to see any medical records at all.

We have had our medicals.

I think what the social worker will want to know about your fertility treatment is that you have emotionally got over it and moved on, because having treatment is a very emotional thing for most people and does take a while to get over (if it does not work) then I think things like counselling, having had it, is one way of showing you have worked through any issues as a result of the treatment. Our clinic offered free counselling and my husband and I attended about two sessions together and I think i had one or maybe two sessions alone with the counsellor, which was very helpful.

Hi. Most places are starting the new process from next Monday. It would be worth asking if you will be the new or old process - depending on who you are going to it could e a big time difference

Oh, thanks floaty not exactly sure what the new and old process means, will quickly google!

New means it is much quicker and its done in two stages.

Stage 1 is checks and initial training.

Stage 2 is the assessment and in depth training.

Stage 1 is 2 months and stage 2 is 4 months and this includes going to panel and getting the agency decision.
