I'm guessing you guys must have some great ones. i'm in need of a laugh! One of the best i've heard was dh recently admitting that he only recently figured out the words to "buildme up buttercup" He mis heard "I'll be home, I'll be beside the phone waiting for you" for "I'll be home a baby xylophone waiting for you"!!
Honestly!

Demented - the roses really smell like poopoo is 'Roses' by OutKast and yep, that's what he's singing!

On the subject of 'We are Family', my sis and I used to sing "We're making love in a femidom" instead of "ad infinitum"!

Demented · 09/08/2005 16:18

Lakota, thank you.

cardy · 09/08/2005 16:29

I used to sing "Sue Lawley" to So Lonely by the Police

henshake, ROFL = rolling on the floor laughing.

moondog · 09/08/2005 16:36

'staple the vicar' would be '
'everyone can see we're together' I think you'll find franke. lol!!

My fathe misheard the line in Tom Jones' 'Green Green Grass of Home' as
'pair of golden tits like cherries'
instead of
'hair of gold and lips like cherries'.

Then there's the girl in my school who thought 'Chiquitita' Abba was 'take your teeth out'

moondog · 09/08/2005 16:37

Sorry,henshake,must have missed your post

What's wrong with the 'a welluh welluh welluh' one??

SPARKLER1 · 09/08/2005 16:37

I have always got the lyrics wrong to REM's The Sidewinder sleeps tonight. Probably because someone told me the rude lyrics before I had heard the song.

I can't repeat the words I know on here as they are sooo rude but all I can say is that it sounds like something rude is happening to Cheryl Baker!! Has anyone heard this version.

I have just looked up the real lyrics and I can't believe they are right.

moondog · 09/08/2005 16:38

Sorry,thinking 'Summer Nights'.

I'll get me coat.

northerner · 09/08/2005 16:41

Once heard a Radio DJ wetting himself cause someone had emailed a request asking for 'a totally clipse of the heart'

henshake · 09/08/2005 20:17

Thanks wigwambam, ROFL so obvious now.
Moondog, your friend at school wasn't called Kirsti was she, can't believe more than one person can come up with 'take your teeth out'.

Iklboo, still PMSL at Shamu.

moondog · 09/08/2005 20:18

Henrietta actually Henshake!
(Well it was an all girls boarding school!)

CaptainCavemansMummy · 09/08/2005 21:19

ROFL at this thread, my stomach hurts!
Friend used to sing "all of my fences are down" instead of "defences" to the Pointer Sisters 'Automatic' ( showing my age!!)
Had visions of storm damage...

quite recently though Kirtsy MacColl was singing 'I'm a mountain goat'..........

in fact dh tells me it's 'I'm an autumn girl'.....

crazydazy · 09/08/2005 21:32

My mum told me that as a child i was once watching Rod Stewart on tv singing "Sailing" and when he said "to be free" and I looked up at her and said "I'm free aren't I Mummy?"

She said it was one of the very few times I was cute as a kid

crazydazy · 09/08/2005 21:33

I always thought up until recently that the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody said "spending his life cooking pork sausages" when he really said "spending his life as a monstrosity" I think

moondog · 09/08/2005 21:42

Dior, it is 'Bless my cotton socks' but then 'I never knew'.

Cracking song-can just hear the horn section blasting away in the background...

Sparkler - I always thought that REM song was on about Cheryl Baker too and was totally mystified by it!
But then again Michael Stipes is pretty weird so I kind of went along with it!

moondog · 09/08/2005 21:48

I'm still trying to make aconnection between cheryl Baker and REM...

dropinthe · 09/08/2005 21:51

I've just remembered one! That song with Justin Timberlake and Snoop-"Are you giving me the scissor sign"!

Oh,the shame!!!

turquoise · 09/08/2005 21:55

Isn't it "Bless my cotton socks I'm in the news"?

moondog · 09/08/2005 22:00

Yeah,you're probably right turquoise. lol!!!

The misunderstandings continue!

cardy · 10/08/2005 12:11

I think the in REM's Sidewinder Sleeps tonight the correct lyric is 'come in tryin' to wake her up'....

Not surprising that they were misheard as
most of REM's lyrics and difficult to dicepher or make no sense at all.

MarsLady · 10/08/2005 12:19

DD1 used to sing one of the songs from Pocohontas.

The actual line was: Savages savages dirty rotten savages

DD1 used to sing: Sandwiches sandwiches dirty rotten sandwiches

We still laugh about it now!
