Does anyone else think the obsession with Hannah has gone too far?

I remember her in Benidorm, and I've heard her singing and she's a great singer. Everyone is going on like she's the second coming though and it's rather OTT now.

No. I think it’s great. It’s wonderful to see women way older than 20 something being feted for their talent. See also Olivia Coleman.

I think the UK media has a habit of this - they shove people in our faces to the point folk grow tired of them. Makes me think of Romesh and Rob Beckett - they're everywhere.

Hannah is sort of the full package though; I can see why she gets the hype. Plus, she seems very humble, which is another tick for her.

She was fabulous when she hosted Eurovision and in Ted Lasso. She's very talented.

I'll be honest, I'd never heard of her until the Graham Norton Show last week. She's fine, I liked her. I haven't seen any of her work but I know loads of people have. I don't begrudge her anything. She comes across well.

Someone on here said she was her school bully and tbh, I can see HW being a total bitch. She seems very self assured in interviews.

I also regularly see on another forum I read that a well-known UK woman from a reality show was someone's school bully. She said every time said woman pops up on TV, she has a small panic attack. She seemed genuinely broken. The woman is part of a well-known reality show but always pops up on GMB etc too.

I like her I love her confidence she has said she was in an abusive relationship with her Dds dad, and when it ended she found her confidence, good for her.

I don't get the hype at all, I mean, she's okay but she's not done anything majorly outstanding to warrant it. Ted Lasso was good but it was a good premise and would have been good without her. Watched Graham Norton last week and she was trying to inject herself into everything.

I want to be her when I grow up (I’m 63). She’s incredibly talented and to me epitomises a modern woman.

Yes, I remember that. The pp was clearly very upset by the whole thing. I've never liked HW since.

But she does lots of other things. I saw her in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music years and years ago, and she was phenomenal.

Bullies often make it far in life

That can be said of any programme. Tad Lasso also would have been just as good if someone other than Sudekis played the lead. That doesn’t diminish his talent, it’s how acting works.

She has been nominated for and won awards for her work both on stage and on screen for singing and acting. She advocates for women’s rights and LGBTQ issues, she is prominent in supporting SAG-AFTRA, she supports many charities - particularly in supporting the arts and making it more accessible to all. If you’ve only heard of her through Ted Lasso, you’ve missed the vast majority of her career.

To use the Graham Norton show as an example of anything is laughable. The whole premise of the show is everyone trying to insert themselves in everything. It’s supposed to be a whole sofa interaction, not just one person promoting their latest venture. I could pick pretty much any guest who has been on and make the same comment. You don’t have to like her, or her work, and can insist she is over represented, but at least base that opinion on actual facts.

I can take or leave her but she has a real presence. I do not get the Olivia Colman love on MN at all!

Yes she was shy at school and bullied because of her height. Ds2 was too so I can see that happening. He's fine now though.
