Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot, with boy cat. We were snuggled in bed but I decided it was time for a cuppa! So far I've put recycling out, washer on, and had a quick tidy round in the kitchen and living room.

Dd2's up but not been down yet - she was listening to Hades Town again as I came down. Dd1 was out out last night so I don't expect to hear for hours.

My plan for the day is continue working my way through some of my to-do downstairs before Christmas list. I'd like to get through most of it before Halloween so I can spend half term sorting the rest of the living room. Thankfully the to-do's are not huge in number so entirely do-able.

Once I've done a few things, I'll either carry on my crochet project, or nip into town for something for my stupidly dry & coarse hair 🙄. Probably crochet & a quick nip in after work one day I think. I'll measure the kitchen cupboards too - I've decided I'd like to wrap ribbon 'present' bows around them at Christmas so need to know how much ribbon!

No idea what's for tea yet - burgers & wedges maybe 🤔. Then a couple of hours Christmas planning before reading & bed 😊.

Just spent the last hour fixing hive 🤬 now im finally sitting to have my first cup off tea

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. I've put a wash on and sorted out my summer clothes from my wardrobe to make room for my winter things. It's cold! I wore shoes yesterday for the first time in 6 months.

We're about to go out to pick up some free megablocks for Houdini, then we will pop in to Morrison's which is on the way home. I'm making another batch of ratatouille this afternoon as I have some veg to use up.

Mr Dilemma is going out to pick up chorister grandson from evensong and take him home, so I will do some more Christmas decoration sewing, but I have now finished Mr Dilemma's Christmas stocking so it's not secret sewing any more.

Corned beef, salad and jacket potatoes this evening. We always have something easy and not time-sensitive on the evenings Mr Dilemma is out, as his return time varies.

Good morning lucys mam and to u all we are still decorating. We did living room then our bedroom then soars room now on landing and stairs so we have a roll of carpet in room we have to jump over so hopefully it will get laid today or tomorrow. Then later grandson no 1 is home from salou so can not wait to cwtch him . Have a great and safe day all and hope your eye is better . 🫶spare room I meant lol 😂

Hi @lucysmamI use Moroccan hair oil for my hair, it's amazing. You only need a little bit each time... just put on towel dried hair and then dry and style as normal.

I’m on the way to the airport for a work trip. It’s long haul and I’d prefer to be staying at home if I’m honest, but trying to focus on the opportunity - it should be a productive trip.

Need to get through some work on the plane but hoping I’ll also be able to have a good chunk of reading time, and maybe a snooze. Once we land it will be quick dinner and trying to manage bedtime to beat jet lag. Happily, tomorrow is mostly free so will probably do some touristy things before a team dinner, and then getting to work properly on Monday.

Good morning all. I’m lazing in bed with DP having second cup of tea. Children are at EX DH house. In about an hour I’m going to collect them and take them to a bowling party, then McDonald’s. After I have dropped them back off I’m heading to Aldi to get steak and fancy cheese, going to do a steak and cheese board for DP and I tonight and can’t wait. Had a long week. If I get time I’ll finish off decorating for Halloween. I love reading what everyone is up to, I love these threads, always so comforting.

I was waiting for the F1 sprint race but its delayed due to rain and I need to be at my mums for 11. She broke her arm a few weeks ago and has been staying with us, but she's going home today. I have booked an online shop for 11-12, so we need to be there by then.
DH was at a gig in Manchester last night, so he's still in bed, after getting home at 3am.
I NEED TO HAVE A SHOWER!
I'm out day drinking at 2:30 with a few work friends, so the day may take a turn then 🤔

Im in town with DH. Just ordered breakfast. I’m starving. Just had a much needed haircut.

Busy morning already DH has taken DS for a haircut and walked the dog. We are off school now in our area
of Scotland and we go on holiday on Monday so plan on picking up a few bits in town.

Once home I plan on doing some more washing and resting too then finish packing. I’m stupidly allowed DD to have friends stay over tonight but they are older and actually no bother.

No idea an out tea tonight. Hoping to get some inspiration from you all.

About to go out shortly for a top up shop, DD will be joining me as she wants to choose some different snacks other than the usual ones I get on the online shop.

I’ve not had the best sleep, partly due to menopause and partly due to the fact that I realised at 2am that I’d forgotten to do something at work, just a minor hiccup really in the grand scheme of things but will have to sort out Monday morning which could be a bit stressful!

This afternoon will be getting washing done, giving the kitchen a once over and en suite needs a good going over. Tonight will be Strictly and some comfort food🙂.

Been up since 6:45am 🤦‍♀️ Stripped the beds and cleaned and tidied up. Got my 1st wash on of the day. Just finished 2nd cup of coffee. I've got some painting to do for a commission and then a bit of uni work later. Umming and ahhhing whether to go and get my hair cut today or wait till Monday morning whilst I'm off work. No idea what were doing for tea but will be Strictly followed by a good film later 😊

Laundry. Tidy kitchen. A few chores for mil.

Need to go to post office to collect some parcels then clean the place as we have people over tonight also need to decide what to cook…

Try to raise DS (back at uni so radio silence from him). Not sure what else…

I have a few of those annoying little life admin jobs to do pick a parcel up take a couple of returns back pick some prescriptions up etc. I am planning my route to minimise time out of the house 😆

Good afternoon all, I’ve been on a rainy run with our oldest this morning, then we took the smallest swimming. We’re all off to a hockey game later, its my mums first one, she wants to see if she can undertand the rules in practice as she’s going to see our son play for the first time on Sunday.

We probably won’t be home until about 8, so she’ll probably watch strictly and we’ll likely be lazy once the kids are in bed.

Oh, @lucysmam what sort of hair do you have? I have typical south asian hair, very thick hairs so I use amla hair oil, its good and cheap, but wouldn’t suit or pale hair.

Waiting for postman to delivery a parcel for DD, then shopping in Asda. Got a couple of new cookbooks and I’m keen to try a few recipes over the weekend.

Morning, all! Gosh, some of you sound terribly busy today, and it's not even lunchtime here yet!

I aspire to do a great many useful and domesticated things (plenty of phone-calls that I have been putting off after work and a migraine this week, laundry, recycling, emptying the dishwasher, general tidying), but so far, I have put the washing on and been out with the dogs. This takes aaaaaaages, because DDog1 needs to stop and sniff everything. DDog2 is more of a happy whirlwind who likes to caper about with a big grin on her face.

Batch cooking can wait for tomorrow. It'll be sausage rolls, French onion soup, chicken and mushroom pie, and apple pie, once I've picked the apples off the tree. Oh, and possibly an emergency Eccles cake to make the most of the leftover pastry!

Good morning lucysmam and others. I had 2 coffees earlier, then a quick trip to aldi which wasnt totally successful-no leeks. Then home for egg and veg muffins and a cup of tea. I then tidied up and have made lentil soup, minus a leek. Dgs2 is now here for his sleepover so he is busy drawing and colouring in. I've completed a unit in Duolingo Spanish. Later I'm making spiced red cabbage and red cabbage slaw. I'll have some of the slaw with salmon and salad for dinner. Dgs2 will have fish fingers. Then I will settle to watch strictly once he's in bed. Have a good day

right now I have cooked breakfast/brunch on (hash browns, roasted tomato, fried onion, bacon, beans, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, toast)

later I am doing home made vegetarian lasagne, with roasted aubergines, bechamel sauce, ricotta, Parmesan, tomatoes, soya mince,( you know a thousand separate things for one dish)

baking: today I am going to attempt Swedish cinnamon buns with cardamom sugar - for the first time

tomorrow: apple something

and whilst I am here losing the will to live might prep (meaning soak in booze) some dried fruit to make homemade mincemeat (for Christmas mince pies) I will use vegetable suet and add in dried cranberries/cherries/figs not sure will see what needs using up first - this will involve sterilising jars which winds me up - unreasonably winds me up

we have another weekend of this next week
so might try the dehydrating setting on our one pot thing - but that’s next weekend’s fun

Morning all (just about) I’m trying to stop myself being too productive so I can kick this annoying cold by Monday.

Started the essential laundry, slowly. And done also a bit of entertaining the kids with crafts for anti-racism day next week. I really want to make a quiche - the pastry is shop bought so it’s not tricky - but trying to muster the energy!

Later is homework support and hopefully not a lot else… until maybe watching Traitors Uncloaked on catch up and then Strictly. Dinner will be salmon fillets with Boursin with jacket potatoes and something green on the side. Looking forward to that.
