If you had to name one or two things that you have done to make your life more peaceful/calmer - what were they?

OP posts:

A highly organised house. It makes 99% of daily activities easier and therefore more chilled and peaceful.

Live alone.

Being a homemaker. It is bliss! You literally couldn’t pay me to return to paid work 😂

AndyouWILLATONE · Today 21:31

Prioritise my spiritual health.

CurdinHenry · Today 21:32

Working from home. The office is awful and it infuriates me how many basic bitches try to force us all back there so they can have drinks on a Thursday.

SlB09 · Today 21:32

Live closer to my mum!!! She would without a doubt help with organise stuff and take the pressure off! Sadly I don't live close enough so little old le does everything hahaha

Leo800 · Today 21:41

Moving to live by the sea. It’s bliss.

EmpressaurusKitty · Today 21:44

Get divorced.

And start putting my phone on airplane for a while most evenings while I read a book / play with my cat / crochet.

fumingrightnow1 · Today 21:52

Reduced my hours at work and got rid off a load off my stuff everything now has a place.

Sunnybeachday · Today 21:55

Having (lazy mare) hacks/systems for everything around the house.
Adopting a “not my circus, not my monkeys” attitude. I don’t engage in gossip/drama and don’t have anyone in my life who drains me. For the odd family member where I don’t really have a choice, I internally say (and externally whisper) “I don’t care” when they start with their nonsense.
I also put my phone on airplane mode when I don’t want to be bothered (or when I’m anticipating a call from someone I don’t want to talk to (ref the above point))

OOO176 · Today 21:55

Retired (apologies to those not there yet).
Decluttered (ongoing).

SmallTreeDeepRoots · Today 22:21

Quit following the news. Newspaper headlines as you walk past a shop are enough.

DoreenCorkhill · Today 22:27

Change of attitude
60 plus now and it’s all about me .
Speak only my truth
Cliche but enjoy the little things great coffee a fat cat autumn colours a text from a pal
Thinking about things I loved as a child
Answering to no one

Rest whenever possible, literally horizontal in bed, whenever possible. Rare with multiple kids, pets and job but it’s my no1. Always house jobs to be done but there’s an art to ignoring them wherever possible when people don’t need you - as a mum it’s the people who’re important, not the house jobs.

Echobelly · Today 22:33

Running the dishwasher when it's not totally full, and also shoving bigger things like pans into it - small, but made keeping on top of the kitchen easier

Using YouTube relaxation videos at bedtime and getting YT Premium so I can put on a timer and don't get ads blaring at me - I used to generally take ages to get to sleep, but I've found types of video I like that can usually get me there in more like 20-30 minutes

teaandtoastwouldbenice · Today 22:42

I envisage divorced life as calm and peaceful

shouldntbeonhereagain · Today 22:48

Yoga. Robot hoover. G and T in the bath almost daily. Running. More yoga.

SpecialShark · Today 22:51

Waking up a little earlier to have more time to prepare for the day.

Stompythedinosaur · Today 22:55

Massive declutter.
Stop volunteering for everything I feel I should.
Pet food deliveries automated.
Having a housework routine.
