Greetings, pedants who clicked on the title :D Sorry about that - but I am actually extremely annoyed, 'cos DPD have just delivered my parcel to an address half a mile away which seems to be a holiday home and therefore inaccessible. I was expecting the delivery, so when I saw the van drive past our house, hesitate, then reverse into a neighbour's drive and return in our direction, I ran out of the front door and waved frantically at him. Being over 60, I am invisible, so it had no effect, and he went on to shove my delivery through someone else's letterbox. This is not a euphemism. I am peeved. Very.

Happily awaiting replies which criticise my grammar, spelling, relationship, sexual history and political stance :) I may as well get some joy from the day...

You have my sympathy op. Its very annoying when a delivery isn't delivered. A parcel I ordered was left behind someone's drainpipe two streets away!! 🤣🤣🤣

shellyleppard · 02/10/2026 17:59

Ignore anyone who criticises your grammar etc....we are all human and no one is perfect

buckeejit · 02/10/2026 18:00

That’s so annoying. I hope you have something good happen in your day to make up for it

OriginalUsername2 · 02/10/2026 18:01

I’ve ordered things to my old house several towns away twice now. I moved about 7 years ago 😬

SirChenjins · 02/10/2026 18:06

I'm fummin on your behalf - that's bloody annoying 😡

Can I share why I am fummin today please? I don't want to hijack your thread though, so no problem if not.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 02/10/2026 18:07

Maybe we should have a 'what has made me fummin' today' thread?

I remain unfummed, but I am prepared to fum on other people's behalves, should it be necessary.

PleasantPedant · 02/10/2026 18:25

The driver was only humman.

Judd · 02/10/2026 18:34

@SirChenjinsyes do!

Ha ha!

Have you got your package?

Ipsevenenabibas · 02/10/2026 18:44

"Being over 60, I am invisible” is scientifically fascinating.

As for the parcel being delivered half a mile away to an inaccessible holiday home: technically, DPD have delivered it. Just not to you.

Oh please do! No sign of the blinkin' package here, but dinner's almost ready, so am feeling a little happier
:)

Well you can’t expect the neighbour to deliver it to you!

You are going to have to go for a stroll and collect it

DH already called into the house - no one in, it looks like a holiday home.

What was in the package?!

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 02/10/2026 19:08

We have 4 properties of that number in our street. Imagine the hilarity that ensues!

Calenia · 02/10/2026 19:10

You’re very funny OP. Wish we were neighbours so I could fetch your DPD parcels round for a laugh.

elperil · 02/10/2026 19:11

How did DPD get the parcel in if there's no one home? Check their green bin, that's where I tell delivery folk to drop the box if I'm not home or the porch is locked. Failing that a note through the door, a facebook post, a rant, a mad dance anything.

Minasama · 02/10/2026 19:11

Very irritating. Have you contacted DPD?

Andsoitbeganagain · 02/10/2026 19:19

At least you saw where it was delivered and didn't have to play "who lives in a house like this" using a wonky picture with a blade of grass and a cracked paving slab as its only identifiable features.

Dullhead · 02/10/2026 19:19

They posted a card to say left with neighbour?

Inextremis · 02/10/2026 19:35

Dullhead · 02/10/2026 19:04

What was in the package?!

Gummies. Not of the kid-friendly variety.

According to the 'proof of delivery' pic I received, they bunged it halfway through the letterbox. It's a small package.

What did you post to be deleted???

I just asked if they’d delivered a card to say delivered to neighbour?
