Any suggestions to buy something for 4.40 at John Lewis?

I’m at checkout and £4.50 short of free delivery so as the delivery cost is similar, I might as well buy something. For those idling away time, suggestions. Any bargains to be had?

Size 4 trainer low socks that don’t end up underneath your foot after 30min walking. Please then share the specific brand details with me so I can buy my own and finally put an end to my quest.

Alternatively a small tube of hand cream for yourself or some toothpaste 🤷🏼‍♀️

I recall being in a similar position. Genuinely needed, and liked, flannels on the website, so was going for those, but in case you need to know this, they are one of the products that don't qualify for being sent in JL deliveries for some reason.
Ended up settling for some little food storage boxes. Hope you enjoy your tealights.

No worries. Always useful to know. Who knew £5 could be so challenging

Off topic for the thread! These are the only trainer socks I buy:

https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1318071002.html

Brought them repeatedly over the years and they don't fall down for me (at least not until they become extremely old). I'm also a size 4.

Previously H&M did them in lots of colours not sure if they still do.

Mine do go missing occasionally but I don't think I can blame H&M for that 🤔

Teatowels? I usually bump up my John Lewis basket by getting a new teatowel or two. Their own brand gingham ones are good and cost £6. Or a bar of L'Occitane soap

Yawningalldaylong · Yesterday 07:48

Silicone spatula, kids socks, Christmas wrapping or Christmas cards.

Defiantly41 · Yesterday 07:50

Goi g down the slightly off-topic rabbit hole of trainer liners for size 4 - these.
or a friend buys children’s ones, haven’t tried myself but probably worth a go

Any suggestions to buy something for 4.40 at John Lewis?

Skechers are the only trainer socks Ive ever found that stay in place

I’ve had this a few times recently, one shop I had £1.01 to spend and thought wouldn’t it be great if they offered a round up to charity and we’ll give you free delivery option 🤔

Aleveldilemma · Yesterday 15:25

ooh OP I have stuff saved in my wish list for occasions like these.
last time I bought one of those things you use to measure shots - a jigger. Perfectly measured gin and tonics over the summer!

Aleveldilemma · Yesterday 15:28

Just read the thread - love it - added a few more bits to my wish list!
This is one of the most Mumsnet threads ever btw! 😂
