If I love Chappell Roan, who else might I like?

I don't really listen to the radio etc so am very much stuck in the 90s and early Naughtiest with music. But I have recently discovered and love Chappell Roan.

Any suggestions for anyone similar?

I should add that Spotify has suggested Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodriguez, but they've not really hit the spot. I don't think they have quite the edge/ clever and amusing lyrics that I like about Chappell.

Early noughties that should say not Naughtiest!

Raye?

AutumnLover1999 · 01/10/2026 15:06

Kate Bush or Tori Amos?

Squirrelblanket · 01/10/2026 16:06

Lorde, La Roux.

stripesandspotsanddots · 01/10/2026 16:08

Try Audrey Hobert, I think her album is poppy and fun.

stripesandspotsanddots · 01/10/2026 16:09

And of course Taylor Swift! Start with the album 1989.

I've been listening to Sofia Isella and Paris Paloma lately, some brilliant songs. Very feminist. I'm too old for their demographic I guess, but they keep popping up on my algorithm and I'm loving it.

NotNowFGS · 01/10/2026 17:13

Reneé Rapp, Orla Gartland, CMAT, Caroline Polachek, Olivia Rodrigo

Suasthuasanuas · 01/10/2026 17:54

CMAT

SnortCorner · 01/10/2026 17:57

Agree with CMAT.
Give Jessie Ware a listen as well and Gracie Abrams.

SnowflakeSmasher86 · 02/10/2026 17:03

I’m just listening to The Cure by Olivia Rodrigo and can see why it’s recommended as I thought it could be Chappell Roan before I looked to see who it was. Banger anyway!

NorWouldTilly · 02/10/2026 17:52

Lola Young.

AndresyFiorella · 02/10/2026 18:02

I love Chappell Roan too. I have been surprised by how much I love Olivia Rodrigo. I'd give her another go. I also really like Lola Young, although I prefer the radio edits of her songs. Too much swearing puts me off.

KayFabe · 02/10/2026 18:08

Caroline Polacheck, maybe Christina and the Queens

Wrestling67 · 02/10/2026 18:10

Haute & Freddy

Witchfoot · 02/10/2026 18:13

Definitely agree with CMAT.

I"d also recommend Sierra Ferrell (country rather than pop, but she's an incredible artist with a uniqueness that reminds me of Chappell Roan).

Also Rose Betts! Brilliant, wry lyricist.

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 02/10/2026 18:24

I like Chappell Roan, what about Sabrina of Sabrina and the Diamonds?

Gingerkittykat · 02/10/2026 18:36

Paris Paloma, especially Labour.

I also like Rose Betts, but my algorithm went crazy playing constant Irish songs after I listened to her (even though she is not Irish!).

NovemberMorn · 02/10/2026 18:38

Ella Langley, Lola Young, Kate Bush?

DollopOfFun · 02/10/2026 18:44

Self Esteem

Shloopie · 02/10/2026 18:47

I agree with CMAT. Such catchyyyyyyy songs. And the lyrics have more to them than 'ooooh you're so hot, and the club is jumpin'

Ineffable23 · 02/10/2026 18:49

Maybe W.I.T.C.H by Devon Cole?

momager22 · 02/10/2026 18:50

Self esteem! Such a talented powerful feminist performer. A really clever mix of spoken word and absolute pop/ dance bangers. If you can watch any of her glasto set from this year I’d start with that. It’s quite the spectacle.
Also love CMAT - more of a country vibe.
