What’s your favourite UK castle to visit?

I love a castle (and a cathedral, but that’s another thread 😀) and since I’ll be holidaying more in the UK now I’d like to hear about your favourite castles.

Mine is Conwy! It’s big, has ramparts, walkways and towers and gorgeous views. 🏰

OTOH, Despite its dramatic presence, Edinburgh castle doesn’t do much for me.

Manorbier in Pembrokeshire

Yes! DS lives in Lincoln so I’ve been to both. Both fabulous.

Good to see so much love for Manorbier and other Pembrokeshire castles; they’re all great and just a stone’s throw away from me.

I love a castle….favourites😀

1. Hampton Court Palace - had read so much about it and it held up to expectations.
2. Culzean Castle in Ayrshire - on a cliff looking down at the sea, dramatic and daunting. It’s stunning.
3. Falkland palace in Fife - it just a lovely story and setting.
4. Alnick Castle - its lovely with the connection to family today, and also to Harry Potter
5. Stirling Castle - its my home town!
