Lip flip, is it painful and did you have trouble speaking?

Have this booked for first time tomorrow but having second thoughts. Is it very painful? And did you have trouble speaking? I talk alot in my job, I dont want people noticing a difference 🙈

I personally didn't like it. I felt like I couldn't talk properly & drinking & eating was really hard, I felt so self-conscious! It didn't really hurt so much.... it lasted about 6 weeks.

I just have a tiny bit of filler in my cupid bow now, I have really uneven lips & it works really well.

The girl who does my Botox said it’s really not a good idea, you might as well just get filler (perm or temp)
when she had it done, it affected her speech, eating and drinking so definitely something she only did once

I had it done a few years ago. I thought it looked good… my upper lip was more defined and lifted without that trout pout look.

A few days later I was having brunch with a friend and realised that I was struggling to eat or drink. It felt like I couldn’t close my lips properly so I was almost drooling my OJ! Only lasted a day or two but it was enough to put me off having it done again.

SIL had it done. It looked ridiculous.

I love mine. I have a very thin upper lip and she doesn’t use much Botox. It gives me a little more lip and I can speak fine. It stings a bit but it’s over in less than a minute.

I didn’t enjoy a good 2-3 weeks of this until I got used to it. Wouldn’t do again.

This is exactly the issue IMO. Women with perfectly normal lips being convinced by society that they are ugly because they are thin. When that just isn't true.

I'm so confused with lip flips and nobes. May have to read more now to find out.

My sister had a lip flip and regretted it so much. It looked ridiculous, affected the way she spoke’ laughed and drank. She couldn’t even whistle for her dog 😂

It gave us so much mirth in the family though, it was worth it for 4 months of taking the piss.

I saw a woman who looked like a duck the other day, maybe this is what she’d had done.

I don’t object to all cosmetic procedures, but compromising your ability to speak, eat and drink (as reported by people who have had it done) doesn’t sound like the best decision.

Not really. I had mine done because my lips were so thin that if I tried to wear red lipstick, my mouth looked like my face had a gash in it. Not only that, but I had a deep line coming from my lower lip, so the product would bleed into it and I'd look like Dracula. I just wanted to be able to wear a nice lipstick like a normal woman.

I had them filled once in 2019, and it seems to have kicked something off in my body, as I've never needed it done again. Apparently that can happen.

But it looks so, so, so stupid.

I’ve seen so many actresses on tv with it that’s it’s got really annoying. They only move their bottom lip to talk and end up looking rather gormless. It’s very obvious it’s been done.
