Your ‘emergency supplies/stockpile’.

Has anyone else started stashing a few things away in the event of some kind of ‘national emergency’ and if so, what sort of things are you storing?

I’m certainly not going to turn into a prepper but as I have plenty of storage space, I’ve got two big plastic boxes filled with dried goods (rice/pasta etc) and then some tinned stuff. I’ve also stocked up on batteries, candles and matches and I bought a solar charger. And oh, got two 5 litre bottles of water.

The temptation to go a bit nuts and plan for Armageddon is high! 😂😂 But I’m being sensible and just having enough for the basics to keep us going for about a week. I’m also cycling through the food so it doesn’t get wasted - use a tin of beans and then replace it etc.

If you're worried about state control surely a bit of self reliance is no bad thing?

Sensible people are taking precautions. It's hardly the end of the world if you have a bit of extra food etc. It's just a practical insurance policy.

If you want to believe in conspiracy theories then crack on.

If you used punctuation, that may resemble something slightly comprehensible... maybe 🤔

I am not worried about ANYTHING... Hence my honest questions.

48 loo rolls last us about 7 months but when we get about half way or just over I order more.

So we're covid jabs 😄

I've bought a few packs each of ready cooked rice and couscous so can be eaten cold in an emergency.
Dried milk tin
Tea/coffee
M&S tinned chunky soups/stews
Baked beans
Nut butters
Oaty bars
Loo rolls
Pataks vacuum packed curries (can be eaten cold)

So you use about two a week? That seems very low to me. I live alone and am sure I use more than that (though I do have IBS and currently have some gynae issues which means I use more).

I'm trying to understand the hysteria by asking questions. I believe asking questions is OK and not #aibu.

The thing that actually worries me is not a few days with the shops shut & no food but if law & order breaks down. The London riots were scary & the scariest thing was that the police were overwhelmed & you were somewhat on your own.
