Term time, school day jobs. Anyone have one? What is it and how do I go about finding one?

I have been an early years teacher and a copywriter in my career. But neither are actually term time, school day jobs even though both sound like they should be!

I have considered things like lunch time supervisor jobs, but they’re few and far between and also not very well paid.

So I’d love to know: if you have a job where you work term time and during the school day, what is it?

How do I get one of those?!

Exam invigilating but it’s seasonal.

I do this, yes its seasonal but we seem to be in more and more each year. The school I work in start the mocks in November, then another set in January, and they are talking about potentially doing a limited amount again in March. Then we kick off for the summer in April.

I'm a TA and HLTA (I teach one day per week normally) and I'm a dinner lady. I'm paid 8.45-3.15. I usually faff about and have a chat in the afternoons after work so leave a bit later. Fifteen minutes for lunch.

I get about an extra 10p an hour to teach classes so would not recommend it unless you love the school. Doing the training for HLTA status saved my neck from the redundancies made last year though.

In the holidays I work for the council with children in care. Some of my colleagues do term time only. That's much better paid and I'm considering a permanent jump.

School canteen. You don’t need amazing cooking skills, just be reasonably competent. It’s like home cooking just on a larger scale.

Worked in schools for several years in various administrative positions, all were term time only, most were school hours as well. I've been a receptionist, a library assistant, a librarian and a reprographics technician. All found on school or county council websites

I would honestly not enjoy school canteen work! I can see how it would suit lots but not for me!

Do really like the idea of library assistant though. That sounds more like it!
