Anyone else wish holiday websites showed airport transfer times more clearly?

To wish travel websites would put the distance from the airport to the accommodation when travelling abroad.

Does anyone find this a pain. I like to see how long the transfer is as I don't want anything over an hour.
It's never obvious, you have to start looking it up separately or delve into the website .

Does anyone agree. Would you like to see the distance to the accommodation more obvious when you book a holiday.

Any other website hates for travel, where they could do better?

Easyjet tell you this with their holidays.

Justaquestionplease · 14/09/2026 19:42

I wish they explained the beds/room set up more clearly rather than a 'room sleeps 2-4, people ' vague nonsense. I have two older dc. I want to know how many beds exactly, if they are singles or doubles, if the room is divided or what.

Ineedanewsofa · 14/09/2026 19:43

I’d love it to be a search criteria/filter on travel sites and apps!
I use TUI and Jet2 apps most frequently and transfer times aren’t too bad to find once you’ve clicked into a specific hotel but I’m you @girlfriend44 it’s one of my top considerations so should be more prominent
Edited for typo and to say travel booking websites are generally up there as some of the worst UX design in existence, second only to car insurance IMO

I don't see this. I just looked. It said shared transfer but not how long?

Can you not just use google maps to find out how long the drive is from the airport to the hotel? And then add a bit on to drop everyone else to their hotels…

NameChangeScot · 14/09/2026 20:07

Most.you can find it quite easily, but I do wish you could search by transfer time. I hate it when I find the perfect holiday only to find out it's 2.5hrs transfer.

Agree with the poster who wants to know room configuration too, we need two separate sleeping areas and full size beds, not sofa beds. These are all called something different at each hotel, suite, apartment, partitioned room etc. often they want to put two teen boys on a shared sofa bed....nope! Find myself trawling trip advisor for room photos.

Yes that's what, sometimes it would also be nice to know if the pool is heated .

Sorry but two seconds on Google maps would tell you the distance. It's never going to be madly accurate because it would depend if you were the first or last hotel on the route but I doubt the website could tell you that level of granular local detail either.

Room configuration you might have better luck on tje hotel's own website rather than the Tui etc one.

Totally agree , I’d love a floor plan of the apt like you get on rightmove for a house , as in our family we have a very loud snorer and I need to know the two bedroom apt had actual doors to close and not just a partition . Also like PP need actual beds for teenagers too.

Saw a privilege apartment tonight while browsing. What is it lol
You couldn't see if it was a big studio or had a separate bedroom.

Room configuration should be on the website your booking with
Your suggestiones means you've got to leave the site your on and go onto another one.

It can be misleading.

One time we went on holiday to Montenegro; the transfer was actually from Dubrovnik. Now this was stated on the website and I think that the travelling time was given, so this wasn't a surprise.

What the website did not give was the length of time we should expect to be held up at the Croatian border. (I was probably naive. My thinking was "Oh, Croatia's in the EU now. It won't be that bad.)

Lesson learned. Never again will I book an air holiday that requires cross border travel. The next time I went to Montenegro, I made sure that the flight landed at Tivat.

Its literally another tab open. If you're not computer savvy enough to manage that you should probably not be booking a holiday online.

Squirrelblanket · 15/09/2026 06:48

I've never had a problem finding this in the Jet2 website, but what you could do is check out which resorts are closest to the airport in whichever location you're looking at, then filter the results by resort.

bugalugs45 · 15/09/2026 07:49

EasyJet definitely does, it’s on the hotel information, I’ll get a screenshot & post it .

Newusername2026 · 15/09/2026 07:51

I usually book packages with TUI or Jet2 and they do tell you this ...quite clearly as I recall. But if it were a search filter that would be even more helpful

reluctantbrit · 15/09/2026 07:52

Unless you book private transfer and yes, then just use Google maps, you will never know how long it may take as it all depends how many people will be on the bus with how many hotels the bus has to stop at. And don't get me trying to sort out the suitcases.

After one disaster we only either book private transfer or have a hire car anyway.

Utterly agree to more information about sleeping. DD stopped being comfortable on sofabeds when she was 11 and finding a suite or an apartment with 2 proper bedrooms on a site like Tui was like digging for gold nuggets.

We went by word of mouth twice and then DD was old enough to have her own room.

itsgettingweird · 15/09/2026 07:53

I always find approx transfer times on the websites.

Also use maps to find distance from airport to hotel.

Bit it can never be accurate because some flights will have 25 people going to 1 hotel and 20 going to 4 others on route and some flights will have 50 people going to 10 different hotels.

Transfers are done by resort where possible and when people are all going somewhere different there may be a few resorts to drop off at.

personally I think shelling out for a private transfer is always worth the money

bugalugs45 · 15/09/2026 07:53

Ah typically now I can’t find it , but I’ve booked with them the last 5 years and always seen a transfer time , bugger !

MelonSorbet · 15/09/2026 08:10

Never had this problem. I don't book package holidays.

mondaytosunday · 15/09/2026 08:38

But surely it can only tell you how long to get to a central point in any city? Say Heathrow may tell you how long it takes to get to Paddington but unless you are staying there it’s pretty vague - might take another 30 months to an hour to your final hotel. You can just put both points in google maps to get a more accurate time.

BirdLandedonmyHead · 15/09/2026 09:08

Definitely agree with beds. They say a bed is good for a child up to 16, but its not full length... and you cant always tell that from the photo!
(Also... who thought it was a good idea yo put the children in the livingvroom with balcony, kitchen etc, and then the adults in a seoarate bedroom? It would be safer to have the children in the side room)

RomeoRivers · 15/09/2026 09:18

Absolutely agree that I would like a filter to search hotels based on transfer time.

I would also like to filter by room type e.g. swim up, 2 bedroom, private pool, ground floor etc.
