My body is behaving today so I am having a small chips and sweet chilli sauce from McDonald's in the car whilst it's raining with my DD.
What are yours?

I picked up a new video game were you potter around a little community garden, growing plants and taking cuttings to craft bouquets for the villagers.

There is something deeply relaxing about tending to my virtual flowers with a cat in my lap while the rain beats down on my windows.

Oh how lovely - what's it called? :)

I became addicted to the Velvetiser mocha lattes but they’re so bloody pricey I weaned myself onto the Mocha sachets from Tesco. Add in a bit of instant and they’re my little morning treat to myself. Just one a day. I am a coffee pleb and proud of it.

  • Bar of dark chocolate and hazelnut straight out of freezer with cold milk.
  • Rereading favourite passages from my favourite books out loud (especially P G Wodehouse, Evelyn Waugh, Oscar Wilde, Patrick Fermor and Virginia Woolf).
  • Walking my dog across the fields and into the woods. Sadly they are going to be covered in new houses. Every year there are more houses, more cars, more people and more noise.😞

Getting home early after a busy working week on a Friday, maybe a big cuppa and reading a book whilst pondering what to have as a nice treat dinner and what movie to watch, with a crisp white wine in the fridge to look forward to.

@HeboreoMaltian same here on your last one! I’ve recently gotten into more focused weight training and the pain then sense of achievement on those last couple of reps where you have nothing else to give is so good!

The homemade bagel I had for breakfast.
And the bottle of red I'm about to open 😂

When I go to my parents house and get greeted by their dog. She's 13 and both her hearing and sight are going so she doesn't hear the door or see me come in

Drinking a cup of tea in my favourite jumper ❤️

Why don't you put your tea in a mug?

😉

My first cup of tea in the morning when I’m the only one up and the house is silent, it helps me feel ready for the day ahead

MsSquiz · 03/09/2026 17:47

Lying in bed with my daughter’s as they fall asleep. They’re 4 and 6 and won’t let me do it forever - the 6 year old already sometimes likes to fall asleep reading on her own!

a hot cup of tea and a chocolate bar before I leave the house to do the school pick up

Softpebbles · 03/09/2026 17:53

Cup of tea and little bar of chocolate every night after tidying the kitchen and walking the dog.

Ohyoudodoyou · 03/09/2026 17:53

waking early at the weekend when I have slept in clean, fresh bedding. Taking my little elderly dog out in to the garden in my arms so she can wee. Making a fresh (beans now oh god!) black coffee and going back to bed to rest and listen to classic FM - the most relaxing thing for me, all since lockdown. If it's raining then that is Nirvana!
It's not money is it by these posts, it's peace, quiet, love, simple tastes..

@caringcarer
I love that, too!
(Not very cold seawater, though Grin)

I'm going to do one of my favourite things this evening, which is reading The Fortnight in September in the bath. I read it every year because it's just lovely. I got my very old copy for 5p in 1994 from a jumble sale, and have somehow not lost it over the years. If you haven't read it, I recommend it, it's by R. C. Sheriff.

SourCabbage · 04/09/2026 08:07

Reading on the sofa under my handmade quilt with a cup of tea and a mini chocolate bar (dark chocolate with sea salt), preferably while it's raining.

Swinging on the rope swing in the garden.

Clean pyjamas after a shower.

Isn't it fabulous?!

I also love feeling like I've been hit by a bus the next day. That feeling when you're ready to get out of bed but know that everything will hurt is glorious.

That really is the loveliest book, so gentle and humane. I have the Persephone edition, thank you for reminding me. Flowers
