UK or abroad?
I'm trying to think if there's anything i need to take away that I may need.
I've got -
Pegs for our wet swimwear.
Note pad and paper - as at night I often can't switch off so writing down things helps.
Nail clippers / scissors.

I think that it is technically illegal but if I was going to mainland Europe from the UK, I'd risk smuggling through a few Solpedeine (with codeine) or similar as you can have a broken bone or other sort of really bad pain and all the A&E or doctor will give you is paracetamol in many countries.

Especially France.

Tea towel

Dental floss can be used as a makeshift washing line.
Sudocrem for any minor cuts,spots,burns etc.

UK: pegs, string, book about British nature & wild flowers etc, pound coins, plastic bags, decaf coffee & teabags.

My dh took a coffee machine with him (self drive to Europe).

I live in Spain and Brits coming to visit us keep bringing teabags. I don’t get it. We have teabags in Spain!! Pg típs, twinings, Yorkshire tea - all here. Bloody weird.

They used to be very expensive, is that not still the case (not been for a while)?
camping washing line - no pegs needed, and handy hooks either side. Great for small washes (underwear/ socks etc)
More plus/ chargers/ adapters than you think you’d need

Mini hair straighteners for fringe
Sheet music to learn
Large ziplock sandwich bags (good for dirty washing/wet stuff/beach treasures/toiletries at the airport/packed lunches/anything that could spill)
Loads of canvas bags, just as good as those packing cases but more versatile

Sandwich bags to put your phone/airpods into to stop sand getting into the charging bit

That's obviously not true. What you can buy easily varies hugely from place to place

I reckon those are the key "non standard" items I take.

For longer holidays a portable retractable washing line

Clip things for any opened unfinished bags of Lays, peanuts and sweets, Tupperware for any pastries, fruit et. from the breakfast buffet for my very fussy eater son, and sellotape to real by shampoo conditioner sun cream bottles etc . Always take a pop up laundry basket 💪🏼

a small blanket for the plane. They are always freezing.

A plug-in low voltage night light. I regularly wake up for a pee and have no idea where the bathroom is.

I always take a bottle brush to clean my thermal bottle. Also compression socks as every time I fly my feet swell.

Only Cyprus. I'm aware I can buy things there. But it was a general question / wondering.
Also for UK holdiays. Last year in a static caravan I didn't take pegs for the airer. The shop onsite had them £5.99 for 24 they were pound shop quality ! So handy things I'd sooner remember to take. ( it happened to be breezy so the wet towels wouldn't stay on the airer )

Clip on book lights... for reading on the plane and double as lamps in the hotel room to avoid scaring your family in the middle of night turning on and off all the blinding lights when you get up for a wee

Tweezers + mini magnifying mirror - if you are of a certain age, nothing more annoying than feeling the spiky chin hairs and not being able to get to them!

I always took a carbon monoxide detector when the kids were little after a terrible tragedy when two children died.
