Here's mine
I was born in the 70's and loved a rave back in the day but I love an old dance floor classic. Please share yours.

You beat me to it..I was going to ask if they lived in a care home.

I've really no place to talk my genre is taken from mid 60s,70s.

You would have got My Mum up to Glen Miller, she was born in 1930.

At the height of the rave scene in ‘89/90 in my city, I remember it was French Kiss by Lil’ Louis that got everyone going nuts.

It’s got that slow lady’s orgasm in the middle and I can’t believe no one batted an eyelid at the time. On re-listening to it now, it’s quite a basic repetitive song and very of its time, but it had such an effect on people back then.

I never heard of it but played it on Spotify after reading your msg. I don't remember it, I am a few years younger and wasn't really in the rave scene but am surprised I never heard it. It's got a great beat but my goodness it is dirty! I had to turn the volume down as my teens are around and i was afraid they'd think I was watching porn.

Chain Reaction

Our youth club many years ago had one album that they played constantly. It was a Diana Ross album and chain reaction was on it, it drove us nuts, over and over again, I can no longer listen to it, 😮😵‍💫

I know! It was THE tune at the end of the night (circa 3am) but strangely didn’t create a sexual vibe, as Ecstasy changed everything. I didn’t take it myself but I think it did a great job, as it caused clubbing to become a unified space rather than a pick-up joint.

Has to be Dancing Queen!

PetrichorPam · 28/08/2026 07:49

Way back in the pre-Cambrian era it was All Right Now by Free.
Dancing in the Dark, Bruce Springsteen
Living on a Prayer, Bon Jovi
Let’s Dance, David Bowie

it’s been a mighty long time since I’ve danced …..

A Town Called Malice

Another irresponsible intro - and I’d be up on the floor for this one !
Great pick.

Well it might be an irresponsible intro if it gets my ageing body onto the dance floor !

Bunny sigler ..Girl don't make me wait.
One of the best intros to a Northern soul record.
