Here's mine
I was born in the 70's and loved a rave back in the day but I love an old dance floor classic. Please share yours.

@5128gapi don't know you but from your answer I think we'd get on sooo well 😂

IckyIck · 27/08/2026 10:47

I can't stand Love Shack, Tainted love, Girls just wanna have fun, and Come on Eileen.
Not keen on Dancing Queen, but love Abba otherwise.

At the height of the rave scene in ‘89/90 in my city, I remember it was French Kiss by Lil’ Louis that got everyone going nuts.

It’s got that slow lady’s orgasm in the middle and I can’t believe no one batted an eyelid at the time. On re-listening to it now, it’s quite a basic repetitive song and very of its time, but it had such an effect on people back then.

Come on Eileen drags everyone up.

Not me. I detest it.

I keep trying to add the link but it’s Whitney Houston I wanna dance with somebody

Edited

I was going to say the same. Also Summer of 69 and Dancing Queen!

IsItWickedNotToCare · 27/08/2026 16:54

I definitely haven't got one and loathe the idea of a dance floor

Bit of a mixed bag from me !

Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Put Yourself in my place - Isley Brothers
Don’t leave me this way - The Communards

Great choices. The intro to Put Yourself in my Place is so infectious.
Road Runner ... Junior Walker
Private Idaho ...B52s
Twist and Shout .... Beatles. I know the Isleys did it first but John Lennon just owns it.
Hi Ho Silver Lining ....Jeff Beck.

I was with you up until YMCA.😁
Here's a lesser known Motown record
