Poor Ava still can’t have Oreo’s!

Has anyone else enjoyed the school text insta thing about poor Ava not being allowed Oreo’s?

It got me thinking about the weird school WhatsApp chats that went on when my lot were younger.

I think the best we had was “can we all have a chat to our children about not weeing on the school field please? T is upset because he can’t do stand up wees and now I have to wash and dry his school shoes before
tomorrow” T was the only child who thought it was ok to wild wee on the school field. Everyone else used the toilets.

What has yours been?

Oh it’s definitely made up. There have been some absolute corkers doing the rounds. There’s the “I went home with a guy and now his girlfriend is coming home so I’m hiding in the closet” on that went viral too.

Closet? In Britain? Or was this in America?

Neither, it was made up.

I worked in an Early Years setting where a parent asked the manager to ban Kit Kats in children’s lunch boxes as her child wasn’t allowed them and was upset because someone else had one.

They are absolutely fake and I agree with PP, lean into some pretty negative female stereotypes. Unfortunately stereotypes exist for a reason and my DDs class WhatsApp group is one of them!
My favourite exchange was re whatsapp use amongst the kids, some parents don’t allow it and some do - a slanging match ensued when one claimed their child was being bullied on a class group (with ‘supporting’ screenshots) and another parent fired back with screenshots to show the claimant’s child wasn’t exactly innocent…

‘Stereotypes exist for a reason’? Yes, they absolutely do, but I don’t think it’s the reason you seem to be suggesting.

Ok I’ll bite, please explain what you think I’m suggesting

I don’t know how to share from insta.

If you search for ashleighjamz you’ll find the school group chat things. It’s kept me entertained for days.

As soon as I saw your title I knew what it was. I think it’s hilarious. There’s another one about a bachelorette party that’s a similar style don’t know if it’s the same woman or not.

momtoboys · 26/08/2026 16:23

I have followed along and have laughed out loud!

People take the song and lip synch over it so the soundtrack was going around everywhere. Presumably it started in the US but could have just been the AI’s terminology

Is it Ava’s mum sticking an erroneous apostrophe in Oreos or you?

Addressed earlier. OP said it was autocorrect fail. It's painful though, isn't it.

I even tried to change it but can’t seem to do that either.

I’m in WhatsApp groups for all three of my kids’ classes, and there’s genuinely never been any drama whatsoever - it’s all birthday parties, lost jumpers and “What page is this week’s maths homework?”

Ohhh there’s another woman on Insta that makes parodies of school WhatsApp chats and it’s her in various costumes going “has anyone seen Bobby’s jumper” etc it’s hilarious and so relatable.

I did pick up a packet of Oreos in Asda today and thought to myself - this one’s for you Ava.
