Poor Ava still can’t have Oreo’s!

Poor Ava still can’t have Oreo’s!

Has anyone else enjoyed the school text insta thing about poor Ava not being allowed Oreo’s?

It got me thinking about the weird school WhatsApp chats that went on when my lot were younger.

I think the best we had was “can we all have a chat to our children about not weeing on the school field please? T is upset because he can’t do stand up wees and now I have to wash and dry his school shoes before
tomorrow” T was the only child who thought it was ok to wild wee on the school field. Everyone else used the toilets.

What has yours been?

Of my four that have had WhatsApp class groups three were entirely normally. One was insane.

One of the dads made fake-Ava’s mum look calm, rational and polite 😂

He even once asked that there be no birthday parties on set dates that they were away as his child got “very emotionally distressed” when they missed out 😂

Wow - the entitlement.

OMG exact same here.

the dad posts about their eldest son. Please don’t include him in the no siblings rule. He gets very distressed if he cannot accompany his younger sisters to a party. age ten.

we don’t have an Oreo mum but we have a Pringles mum. The deep rooted secret, she ate two tubes with a hangover a spent two days throwing them up, with mouth ulcers. Salt and vinegar 😂😂

I'd hope whoever actually wrote it realises they don't need the bloody apostrophe. It's a plural. Oreos.

I thought Oreo might be the name of another kid Ava was stealing from- Ava can’t have Oreo’s…pencil case? Pokemon cards? Ruler?

UhOhRatPoo · 25/08/2026 21:37

Shark321 · 25/08/2026 18:57

Autocorrect on the apostrophe. Sorry.

But why would autoCORRECT change it to something incorrect?

BCBird · 25/08/2026 21:50

Im.56 and love OreosSmile

Atschjvkbgj · 25/08/2026 21:56

It’s probably made up but these loons are out there. Bridezilla ones are bonkers too. I’ve worked in education a long time, these people definitely walk amongst us.

EconomyClassRockstar · 25/08/2026 21:58

My personal favourite wasn't a WhatsApp group but a FB Uni parents page. On day 2, one of the mums had a mini meltdown as she couldn't get hold of her daughter and posted a screenshot of her DD's overnight location. Her DD spent the night at a Frat House and was naturally incredibly upset that her Mum thought sharing that on a page with 600 other parents was a good plan. God, it made me laugh.

Also, controversial opinion of the day: Vanilla Oreos are better than custard creams.

So glad you’ve said. It was repeated so often I thought I’d have to look it up.

PringlesAre4Life · 25/08/2026 22:17

I had to google this, what a nutter! I want to invite Ava round for a play date with Oreo cheesecake for pudding. 😂
Nothing like this on any of my kids year group chats! Is it common or are my childrens year group unusually normal
Edited to add: I’m not on IG but could see the posts when I googled. I could only be bothered to look at 8/9/10 which gave me an idea. Just for anyone else not on IG

HouseFullOfChaos · 25/08/2026 22:27

I presumed it was fake but I didn't know it was to advertise the music app. When I saw it yesterday my main thought was that she should have made the posts without the annoying music Grin

fashionqueen0123 · 25/08/2026 22:38

I’m sure it’s fake because people keep asking her where she’s from.

The year of the children is described as Reception. But back at school already?! Scotland maybe but the mothers are called Moms. Ok maybe it’s USA but they wouldn’t say Reception. But previous posts are about a bachelorette party which is American…

Aussies have said it’s not Australian either. And the poster never says! She just gives odd replies when questioned.

Sleepdeprivedandcaffinated · 26/08/2026 00:09

Oh it’s definitely made up. There have been some absolute corkers doing the rounds. There’s the “I went home with a guy and now his girlfriend is coming home so I’m hiding in the closet” on that went viral too.

Sleepdeprivedandcaffinated · 26/08/2026 00:13

UhOhRatPoo · 25/08/2026 21:37

Who knows, but it does. It recognises Oreos as a misspelling if you type it without capitalising the O and will change it to caps O and apostrophe. But if you capitalise when you type it, it leaves it.

TrojanDonkey · 26/08/2026 01:46

I’ve been following it as it’s entertaining even if it’s not real. Unfortunately Ava’s mum is as bonkers as some of the real life WhatsApp stuff I’ve seen.

Yes, why would a computer ever being wrong about something? Confused

Hoork · 26/08/2026 03:54

I like oreos.

VashtaNerada · 26/08/2026 05:35

A parent encouraged me to join a WhatsApp group when my child went to secondary school. Yes, a secondary school WhatsApp. I didn’t even know such a monstrosity existed. Some of the parents on there don’t seem to realise that children should be more independent by that age - it’s full of people looking for car shares even though there is a perfectly good bus that could take their child to school and parents asking about lost property etc rather than just encouraging their child to visit lost property themselves. This has been going on for years so I don’t just mean a transition period from Y6 to Y7 - these poor kids have been babied right through their teens.

WellConfusedandDazed · 26/08/2026 05:55

I saw this recently and was amazed how calm all the other moms were while still not stopping with the Oreos. 😂
The only similar I’ve encountered is a group I joined around carpooling to a weekly practice for my DD’s sport. people constantly asking whose turn it is, insisting it’s my turn, no it’s mine, no I insist. And ‘is anyone going because if not mine can’t go’ and so on. I cannot keep up with texts every week and wish I’d never agreed.

MyGallbladderIsAFucker · 26/08/2026 07:10

So far we've managed to avoid school WhatsApp groups!
We however at our village primary school have had messages multiple times not to drink alcoholic drinks at the gates that's fun seeing which parents turn up with their Cider today. It's always one of a couple. It's sad really.

ThatBreezyScroller · 26/08/2026 07:13

Part of me thinks it’s completely fake because why is no one telling Michelle to STFU

They all seem very scared of her.

But then I do know some people are batshit and actually this is very mild to the things that I have heard.

Mine too! I listen to it with the sound off but if it’s an advertisement for the music thing then that does make sense.

I’ve never understood the liking for Oreo’s.

Same here. They look like they should taste of chocolate but they have never been near a cocoa bean. Is it just food colouring that makes them so dark?

I don't use Instagram so the OP made no sense to me until someone explained it.

User7989776 · 26/08/2026 07:25

You do realise it's completely fake??? All of those AI Whatsapp song videos are created by AI for entertainment.

lalalagarden · 25/08/2026 17:49

I’ve never understood the liking for Oreo’s.

I think they’re mysteriously delicious, despite clearly being created out of 98% probably lethal chemicals.
