sorry OP don’t read this, it disturbs me

the poor woman fell down the gap, the train left with her trapped and another ran over her , she survived though

get yourself a big fat belly like me and you’ll be right

seriously though use any help available. Yo6 don’t want some idiot launching into the back of you if you hesitate to clear the gap

Don’t suppose anyone is interested now, but I had anxiety getting on the train to London had shakes and shivers.
HOWEVER I got there and in the London Palladium we were in the Grand Circle and I had 3 flights of stairs, then steps down to my seat. Interval came I needed the loo so was uP those steps like a rat up a drainpipe. And then back down with drink in hand.
yesterday train pulled in at Kings Cross was on without thinking, again got off at Peterborough with no issue. I hope I’ve turned a corner

It's amazing how needing a wee can turn you into an Olympic level sprinter 🤣 Well done!

FairViewRosie25 · 24/08/2026 23:40

Thank you! I’ve also worked out that going diagonally on and off the train is better

Well done! You've cracked one of the ways to tackle anxiety about stuff like this. Keep your brain busy and engaged with other stuff so it doesn't get the chance to interfere in the process.

I do that too.

Still a lot of people who don't understand what anxiety means. Anyone with irrational fears knows damn well they're irrational, if only it was that easy!

Presuming you saw Jesus Chris Superstar. What a show, and you’re our superstar for achieving a successful day!

I totally get where you are coming from OP. I used to commute to London and took the train every day, and it never bothered me. A couple of years ago I went to a christmas market in olympia and had to get off the train at Clapham Junction to get back home. There was a huge gap, I just couldn't get off the train. I was terrified, in the end I had to get passenger assistance and use the ramp.

However, I do know that my anxiety stems from the menopause and it has lessened since I have started taking HRT. I am not sure if anyone else has mentioned this to you on this thread but anxiety at our age is very common due to decreasing hormones. I am 56.

Oh it was wonderful. Sam Ryder was divine as Jesus as was Tyrone Huntley playing Judas, the show really is all about Judas. And I loved Layton he was so over the top as Herod.

@Williteverrainagain
think it started with me very similarly, went to Birmingham NewStreet and the train terminated at the very end of the platform. I like yo looked at the gap and froze until the guard fetched the ramp. I then went on to Villa Park to see Bruce Springsteen it was like climbing a cliff face I spent 5 hours needing a drink and the loo as I darent go back down only to have to back up again. Show was fantastic though.

Yes, I thought Tyrone should have got equal billing with Sam R. He was absolutely superb.,

It's about 4 inches? You've probably stepped over bigger kerbs.

Nope, it depends where you are.

I was terrified as a kid, I’ve seen people fall down. On the plus side they were pulled up fast.

Yes, both superb and Judas really is the lead role. Jesse Tyler Ferguson was Herod when I saw it.
