I’m awake AND up. I’m just sitting downstairs having my coffee before I head off to work in 40mins. I woke up at 2.42 and couldn’t get back to sleep. My alarm wasn’t due to go off until 4.15 ffs.

Yes, since 5am. No reason why!

I've been up since 5:30 because the bloody dog likes to join in with the dawn chorus!! We have a behaviourist whose groundbreaking advice is 'ignore it', which is getting us absolutely nowhere! Half an hour of passionate barking every morning is breaking me and it's only a matter of time before the neighbours lynch us! Any suggestions guys?

Have you tried teaching him "bark" and "quiet"?

Fell asleep in the sofa about 9pm and woke at 1am. Dropped back off at 5am but up now as I have to leave at 7:30am to meet ds this morning. Wish I was still sleeping.

Wakened at 5 after having a series of terrible anxiety dreams which left me waking crying about the death of a celebrity that in real life I’ve barely had a passing thought about

there’s some dreadful things going on in my life that I can’t explain as literally no one would believe me so my brain is stuck processing it all overnight

i was awake at 3am worrying if my perfectly capable adult son who has an alarm would get up at 5 in time to catch his early train (he did, I’m just an idiot)

Teach him to bark and quiet on command! That’s apparently the best way to stop a dog barking.

Oh no that sounds so difficult. If it helps, I’d believe you. I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt 🙂

Regarding the barking dog... would some sort of white noise or leaving the radio on overnight help so he doesn't hear the birds and doesn't realise it's morning?
