Morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot, with dd2! I'll put the kettle on for a coffee in a minute, before I go out with the washing to hang.

Dd1's up and about already - she bought a resale Wolf Alice ticket for £20, yesterday. There was only one at that price & I have work tomorrow (with loads I want to get done!) so she's going solo 😥. Gutted, but could not manage 2am flixbus to Sheffield, train home, and straight to work so probably for the best there was just the one.

I think I'll get out in the garden for a few hours today - it's been too hot out there & it's starting to look a touch jungle-ey. I also still need to find a small gift for my current teacher - supply I don't know well if anyone has any useful suggestions?

No idea what's for tea - I did ask dd2 to get a chicken out to defrost but it's still in the freezer & I'm not sure it'll defrost 🤔. Maybe quiche tonight, chicken dinner tomorrow evening. I might take a wander to the shop for some ice cream to go with the crumble my friend's dad gave me & we can have that for afters.

After that, showers all round & early night for me, ready for the last week of term 🥳.

@Hedjwitch I am so sorry to hear your sad news.

I'm late today because I've been swimming, then I packed up a couple of Vinted packages to send, and wrapped up some flapjacks to put with some bottles of water in the box on our doorstep for our delivery people.

I have absolutely NO plans for the rest of the day at all - it's just too hot. Mr Dilemma has just been up to the veggie patch to look at the courgettes/marrows, which aren't doing much at all, and has come back feeling unwell so he won't be doing anything else today.

I have a bad case of the Mounjaro burps at the moment and am very much off my food, so I forced down a slimfast drink for breakfast, simply because I needed to have something before swimming. I think I'm going to try a apple for lunch, and I'm hoping that I feel able to eat something tonight. I couldn't eat all my corned beef salad last night so I left half of it and kept the meat for today, and I didn't eat the baked potato at all, so I still have those left to eat. Mr Dilemma is being extremely indecisive about what he wants for lunch - he is well into 'hand on the forehead, weak voice - I don't think I feel well enough to eat' mode which is making me a bit tetchy. I didn't ask him to look at the veggie patch and he keeps trying to do things in the midday sun... So I don't have an awful lot of sympathy. He will be fine.

Worked a long hot shift which actually wasn’t as bad as I’d expected because it was much less busy than a usual Sunday. Reckon folks were recovering from the match or at the beach. Collected a couple of Vinted parcels on my way home & bought scratch cards (spent £6 & won £5). Just had a shower with mango body wash which smells lovely. Have to drop DD17’s GF at the station in a bit. They’re just having ice cream. DH is off on a bike ride so we’ll have quite a late tea (chicken kievs , jacket spuds & peas). Probably catch up with the soaps later.

@JacknDiane I promise you I do look after him! And when concern is required I provide a lot of it. And I'm always on at him to have a drink of water, don't go out in the sun in the middle of the day, wear a hat to cover his little baldy.... so if he chooses to be foolish I'm not that sympathetic. Plus - this was very similar to when he had a VERY BAD SORE THROAT. Or when he had a TERRIBLE COUGH. I actually had pneumonia and I didn't make as much fuss as him!

I don’t think defrosting chicken on the counter in this hot weather is very safe at all!

@lucysmam you could buy some posh soaps from TK Maxx for your supply teacher - they are beautifully packaged & smell amazing!

Manage to find a book for £1 that's usually £20 in waterstones and my boyfriend got me a couple of signs to hang up. Do love a carboot sale. Going again on sunday for my birthday
