How do you count business days?

I had a scan this morning, just before 9am.

They say they will have the results with me within 3 business days. In my mind, today was the first day - because of how early the scan was. Then tomorrow is day 2, and Wednesday day 3.

Is this correct?

No, three business days ends today. If they can’t keep to those standards, they shouldn’t advertise that service.

Within 1 business day would mean by Tues morning, within 2 would mean Weds morning, within 3 would mean Thurs morning. But they probably have some wiggle room in the small print. I hope the results are what you want, whenever they come.

No, 3 business days is Thursday - Mon intoTues is 1, Tues - Wed is 2, Wed-Thur is 3. It might even be Friday, depending on how busy they are or if anything untoward crops up.

I didn't ask about your daily routine, I asked what you've done today to keep busy and your mind off this - you'll get the results when you get them, you can't change that. If you don't want to share that, that's fine.

But according to your logic - one business day would mean the same day, which it wouldn't. One business day would be the next day, making this the second day and tomorrow the 3rd day.

I hate waiting too but unfortunately this won't help you get the results sooner. I hope you get the result you are hoping for.

I’d say tomorow (first full day) is day 1

30th at 9am will be 1 business day
Today at 9am will be the 2nd business day
So you should have had your results by tomorrow morning.

This. If you'd got the result on Monday OP, that would be the same day, Tuesday, next day, ie one day later, etc.

Day 3 would be Thursday to me.

I would outlaw the phrase, at least in all parts of the public sector. If something will take a week, say so, not five business days. It is trying to make things seem shorter than the reality and is almost a form of deception.

And day three is Thursday. No clinic I have worked in would class the day of the test as day 0.
3 days is 72 hours. 72 hours from 9am on Monday takes you to Thursday.
