It’s hotter than reported

Why are the reports of high temperatures being played down?

Gosport is coastal - will be cooler than inland from there, it was 38c not far from there earlier

On the BBC weather page, it tells you the official temperature but also the 'feels like' temp. For example, today we peak at 33C, bit the 'feels like' temp states 39C.
There was also another page that had a 'real feel' temp, because I used that to gauge how to dress in the winter. The real feel temp was often considerably lower in winter

Air temperature versus radiating off tarmac.

We had a huge thunderstorm where I am last night. It has thankfully cleared the air. It has been too hot the last few days and is cooling down from today thank goodness. 17C. Still too hot but better than 27C.

We’ve had it this morning. It’s been so much cooler, but the sun ☀️ is creeping back up now, I’m off to the leisure centre for a dip.

Yes that’s adjusted for humidity. High humidity makes high temps feel hotter (because sweat cannot evaporate and cool the skin), and low temps feel colder (because humid air conducts heat away from the skin more efficiently).

Next thing will be 'Its witchcraft' and x or y is in league with Beelzebub.

Nah - it definitely involves Donald Trump and Musk and foreign oil reserves or something like that.

It is for me. I cannot tolerate the heat. Has to be 15C or lower.
