You've just unwrapped a delicious (and much, much smaller than they used to be!) Mint Cornetto from a multipack.

You are left with this wrapper.

What do you do next?

Ah, MN, you never fail to make the most innocuous everyday, normal things into the grimmest, vilest, most disgusting, ick inducing things ever.

DH would leave the wrapper on the coffee table in the living room. 🙄

Because you're licking the wrapper that goes in the bin, not the food. I don't lick any other wrapper or container clean before I put it in the bin.

How do you cope with apples when the stem and core are going to end up in the bin/compost bin? Or with bread where the crust is touching the wrapper?

Scape the remnants of with a spoon.

timoteigirl · 24/06/2026 19:13

Lick it and then bin the wrapper as it cannot be recycled.

Really? Not even a frozen chocolate gataeu surround? Yoghurt lid? What a waste.

Bin it.

People licking wrappers makes me gag. I am aware that is very much a ‘me’ problem.

Me too.

I'd use a spoon if I wanted to scrape yoghurt off the lid.

Do you lick all food containers (raw meat etc excepted obvs as I said upthread) before you put them in the bin?
