Another two men sentenced for sexually abusing their children

It's emerged that on the same day that Jamie Varley was found guilty of sexually abusing and murdering a baby he and his partner had adopted, another two men were sentenced for sexually abusing two boys they had fostered.

Incredibly, Matthias T and Steven van H (Rotterdam District Court refused to give their full names) were given suspended sentences due to the psychological nature of their crimes.

They were found guilty of raping two young foster boys (aged 7 and 10). They also filmed themselves doing this and were found with thousands of child sexual abuse pictures and videos.

In addition, they were found guilty of raping their dog.

They were given suspended sentences, 240 hours community service and a pet ban, the children were removed from their care, and that was it. The court decided that because of the bestiality, there must be a psychological issue with them, and they were therefore given a lesser sentence.

I know some will be bitterly opposed to this, but isn't it time we stopped giving fostered and adopted children to two men?

I don't think any men should be allowed to adopt or foster unless there are women involved - single men, brothers, gay men etc.

But for the majority of cases it is two gay men.

From the cases we've seen though, it does appear that if the man is an abuser in a straight couple then the woman is more likely to protect the child than the other man is, if his partner (male or female) is an abuser.

The majority of abuse cases is absolutely not with families of 2 men. The number of gay couples who have adopted children is relatively low and the number of hetro men who abuse children, along with women, is at epidemic levels.

It definitely doesn’t seem like in hetro couples the mother is likely to protect the child, if she was likely to protect the child why does the UK suffer from so many prolonged cases of child abuse? Would she not remove the children from the situation?

The Christian leader of one of the UK’s political parties is charged with sexually abusing his daughter and niece. Not it turns out his wife knew he had a sexual interest in young girls and still did nothing to protect her own daughter. How does that line up with your theory?

The question is really - in a society where people are terrified of speaking out and being cancelled, where we have to have laws to protect whistleblowers and those laws often don’t work very well, can we truly protect any child from harm? And where is the risk highest?

If the risk is random and evenly spread across gay and straight people, male and female, then the question becomes - will people be too scared of repercussions, to point the finger at a suspect who is in a minority group? And how do you manage that problem?

As a very wise manager once said to me: all risk can be managed. The question is, how much are you prepared to pay, in order to achieve the level of risk management that you think you need?

It would be interesting to see statistics. I'm aware of one other adoptive gay male couple in the UK who killed. One in the US. A female gay couple where the step mum was the killer of Star Hobson.
Emma Tustin who was step mum in a hetero relationship and a child killer. There must be lots of killings by hetero couples we don't know about, given one child is killed per week in the UK. Unusual ones make the headlines.
