Am I allergic to my (annoyingly expensive) vibrator??

NCd for this because it doesn't quite chime with my normal Mumsnet contributions re politics.

A month or so ago my best friend in the entire world (my 15 year old bullet vibrator) died after a decade and a half of faithful service. I bought a replacement which arrived a fortnight ago. I decided to treat myself and spent nearly £100. But based on fifteen years and twice a week I reckoned it was worth it on a per use basis!

The first time I used it, heaven occurred as desired, but then the next day my bits felt like they'd done ten rounds with Tyson Fury (and not in any kind of good way). They were tender and slightly swollen and it felt like they were bruised. I wondered if it was a coincidence cos I had been on a bike ride a couple of days before.

I used it again yesterday. And today the same problems have arisen. And there was no bike ride this time!

WTF?! It is made of the same material as my old one (a silicone thing). I cleaned it before use and then afterwards too. Obviously this isn't the kind of thing I can return (is it?!). Am I allergic to it?! I would be gutted if so cos it was a lot of money! Has anyone had this issue? Do I just need to get used to it?!

Can you not say which make brand or model this is as to know which to avoid or if someone else has had this issue?

Can't believe I am about to type this sentence but... I used it with cling film last night and all is fine this morning. Hooray! So thanks for the suggestion. Slightly unimpressed if I have to do this every time though!
