If you have a cleaner what do you usually do

For payments? Would you Pay them after every clean within days? Straight away usually? Also, if you needed constant reminding would you set up a standing order given that it can be flexible? Last minute cancellation maybe on both sides sometimes

is leaving to 2-3 weeks without paying acceptable?

Just clean up after yourself.

bugalugs45 · 12/06/2026 18:59

I leave cash on the dining table , have done so for 6 years and only forgotten once , I bank transferred her the same day!

Are you not embarrassed that you have someone to clean up after you?

TheKidsHaveAllGrownNow · 12/06/2026 19:01

I pay mine monthly, DD straight into her account

gingercat02 · 12/06/2026 19:02

Pay in online banking on the day, as soon as possible basically

Twoweeksinaugust · 12/06/2026 19:04

I leave cash on the day. Its a pain to remember but as she's slightly flakey I can't set up a SO or anything

Nope . Why would anyone be embarrassed ?
I work hard for my money and absolutely hate cleaning , how I see it is I’m paying for a service that’s they’re offering . She’s earning a living same as me , just in a different way .
Do you say the same to people who online shop their groceries and have them delivered or put their children in childcare ? All services to make our busy lives easier .

When we had a cleaner, I would pay by bank transfer on completion, so always on the day.
if I was home it would be within 30 mins of her leaving, if I was out, it would be when I returned home.

definitely never longer than 24 after completion - that would go for any tradesperson, unless I was waiting for them to send an invoice

DinoLil · 12/06/2026 19:28

On the day.

BognorRegenia · 12/06/2026 23:45

Cash left out on the day. Not the kind of thing I'd pay for after the fact

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 12/06/2026 23:48

Presumably you are the cleaner.

is leaving to 2-3 weeks without paying acceptable?

No.
We pay on the day...if something weird happens it miggt je the day after maybe two but that would be unusual / an exception.

mondaytosunday · 12/06/2026 23:56

Cash on the day. Always. I’ve never cancelled. Had one cleaner who was unreliable which was very annoying but she was a fantastic cleaner (hotel trained). She missed one week then I never saw her again!

Beachforever · 13/06/2026 00:06

Bank transfer after she’s left. She messages me to tell me how many hours she’s done and I transfer as soon as I read her message.
