If you have a cleaner what do you usually do

For payments? Would you Pay them after every clean within days? Straight away usually? Also, if you needed constant reminding would you set up a standing order given that it can be flexible? Last minute cancellation maybe on both sides sometimes

is leaving to 2-3 weeks without paying acceptable?

Cleaner comes twice a week. For first couple of months paid her by bank transfer the evening of each clean. Couple of times I forgot and I paid after a day or two. Since she’s proved so reliable, and I now think fair to pay her even when we don’t need her eg we’re away, I have a weekly standing order for the day after her second clean.

Leave cash out on the day

dottiedodah · Today 16:39

I think cash for them that actual day is fair .They often rely on their ages hugely

curious79 · Today 16:41

In cash, on the day

Leaving 2-3 weeks is unacceptable. I leave cash in tin if I'm away. We have a long term, trusting and strong relationship.

HauntedRavioli · Today 16:45

I have both had a cleaner and been a cleaner and it's always been cash on the day.

If you've left your cleaner waiting for payment for 2-3 weeks, you need to put that right immediately.

If you are the cleaner, it's time to make it clear to your client that you won't be returning until you've been paid for the work you've already done.

I pay after each clean, transfer to her bank.
There are occasions I have forgotten, she gently reminds me.
She knows if I haven't paid her by the end of the day I have forgotten, so she might send me a text but very amicable.

shuddacuddadidnt · Today 16:52

Pay by bank transfer on the day. My cleaner has been with me for almost eighteen years and I dread the day she decides to retire.

caringcarer · Today 16:52

I pay money into cleaners bank account before she leaves my house after each clean. If I go on holiday I pay money across before I go.

Daffodilsinthespring · Today 16:54

Bank trans the evening of the clean. Very occasionally the next morning if I forgot.

SanSeb · Today 17:03

As soon as I remember after the clean - always that evening.

doesanybodyhaveamap · Today 17:05

I’m very forgetful about this kind of thing so have a standing order that goes out the day after a clean. Then if for any reason our cleaner can’t come one week I can pause the SO.

I also make it known I don’t at all mind being reminded!!!!

xyzandabc · Today 17:07

I used to bank transfer on the day. But it was too easy to forget. Our cleaner was lovely whenever I forgot and reminded me but I didn't like being a bad payer. So set up a standing order to pay every 4 weeks in advance. She's been cleaning with us for over 10 years and is 100% reliable.

Leaving it 2-3 weeks is totally not acceptable

LittleGreenDuck · Today 17:08

Bank transfer as soon as I get home from work on the day. The clean house is my visual reminder to pay! Would never pay later than the day of the clean.

mrsbowes · Today 17:12

My cleaner won't come back to you if you don't pay by the end of the day 😂

Moveoverdarlin · Today 17:13

Leave cash on the day.

DivorcedButHappyNow · Today 17:14

Bank transfer within 24hrs of clean

CowTown · Today 17:33

By bank transfer that evening or the next day. 2-3 weeks is really unfair, and would easily get muddled as you’ll have overlapped sessions and it might not be clear which sessions have/haven’t been paid for.

FridayFeelingIsTheBest · Today 17:39

Our cleaner comes twice a week and for a few months we paid straight after each clean. After that she asked us if we would mind paying her on the 25th of each month, so that is what we have done for many years now.

butternut123 · Today 17:43

I do a month at a time upfront
