I wonder how many people from outside the local area will be doing the same? I already know several families planning to travel in (from St Albans, Herts, Essex)

I'm a lifelong Arsenal fan and Islingtonian but wondering how the borough is realistically going to manage an unprecedented number of people at the parade (and if it will be at the detriment of us locals)

Edited

The parade will pass the t junction to the road I live on… we’ve already had a flyer through the post from the council (with AFC also on the letterhead) basically saying there will be a parade and anticipated disruption

No fucking shit.

DH will go to the pub for the sense of occasion whilst I’ll be barricaded indoors with the baby

It’s going to be carnage. Even tonight people are still letting off fireworks

mumofoneAloneandwell · 24/05/2026 18:10

Sorry West Ham 😬😬😬

Well done Tottenham

Compare and contrast the Arsenal fans behaviour with the absolute disgrace in Glasgow when Celtic won.

The Police are estimating that there could be in the region of one million people at the parade on the 31st. 100,000 turned up within a couple of hours the other night so I don’t think one million is unrealistic for a planned parade. I read early about a guy coming from Australia. I’ll be there somewhere in the craziness

@mumofoneAloneandwell fans invaded the pitch before the whistle, then went on the rampage through Glasgow. This is not a one off, whenever Celtic or Rangers win (yes WIN) a title this happens..🤬 it’s disgraceful, booze fuelled aggression.

Glasgow City Council slam 'embarrassing' scenes as Celtic fans clashed with cops

Missiles were thrown at cops and two officers were badly injured during the carnage.

I’ll be there too… I’ll be the short arse in the Arsenal dress… I love that so many people want one but they only do kids sizes 😂😂😂😂

I’m undecided. Don’t want to stand around for hours but if I can get in the Tolly, I’ll probably go.

I can’t decide what to do, we’re in London from Friday night but rumours are of people queuing from 6am outside the gunners and the tolllington….

I know the Landlord and his wife really well so hoping I can still get in. But not taking it for granted. Going to wait for my partner to get there (straight from the airport!) to see if he thinks it’s doable.

I don’t think one million is unrealistic if 100,000 turned up in two hours. This parade has been planned for a further two weeks

I’m hoping that many don’t go because we won’t be able to move or probably even get near the players but if they do, it will be nice to be surrounded by so many other people who support my club. Either way, I have to be there. I would regret not going

murasaki · 25/05/2026 17:28

In case you can't make it, Villa live streamed theirs on YouTube, I imagine Arsenal will too, so that could be a possibility if you feel that's easier for you and your daughter.

Honestly I really do wanna take her but its just looking so unlikely now!

We watched the cup lift on sky news yesterday and she was mildly interested

Then theres the heat as well - although its currently forecasted at 25 so we'll see

I'd look at where might be the clearest bit of the route, and decide on the day.

But I really enjoyed our live stream, I'm in London so couldn't be in Brum, but had it up loudish and loved every minute. I've watched bits again....

It's a judgement call to make on the day, but you can still wear shirts and wave flags at home if that's the easiest way to go. I hope she enjoys it however it works out.

murasaki · 25/05/2026 17:45

Also, I think you're a great mum for getting interested because she is.

Oh thank you @murasaki 🥰 - I try - its been me encouraging her to like football but she seems to enjoy it - she loves cheering the goals 😭

Plus I think it'll be nice for her to have that sense of belonging

Yeah it'll be something to decide on the day

Although I could park near the stadium early, accept the inevitable parking ticket, and then we can just camp in there until close to the parade time 🤔🤔

Sorry but no. Do not take an autistic child to the parade. I’m an autistic adult who is an expert at masking and I’m dreading it
