For the naked sleeps, how often are you changing your covers? Even with the best hygiene that would get a bit whiffy

GameOfJones · 03/05/2026 11:26

Yes because I get a few wears out of my pyjamas so wearing knickers means I don't have to have a fresh pair of pyjama bottoms every night.

03cg73 · 03/05/2026 12:19

Always wear pants. I hate the feeling of not wearing them

hahabahbag · 03/05/2026 12:24

Another nothing at all here, hate nightwear

CookieDoughJoe · 03/05/2026 12:26

Always.

hahabahbag · 03/05/2026 12:26

@waowwwwww

why would the sheets get any dirtier? We have clean bodies. I change them more in the summer than winter as we sweat more in heat

henlake7 · 03/05/2026 13:19

Pants and a crop top under my pjs...I prefer all my wobbly bits to be nicely contained!

PurpleNightingale · 03/05/2026 13:21

Yes to knickers, no to bra. I'd feel very odd without- like trousers without pants.

fluffydoglove · 03/05/2026 13:24

Yes to knickers always I’d be too afraid of an insect crawling somewhere it shouldn’t! Fresh bedding straight from the washing line last summer and woke up in night feeling itchy and there was an earwig crawling along my feet so glad to have knickers and pjs on

I don't think anything I say will settle the debate, as there are always at least two conflicting answers to this perennial discussion. But I' ll say it anyway!

I come from a line of fervent "no knickers at night" advocates, stretching back to my grandmother, or even before her, and as a child I was expected to go commando under whatever night attire I happened to be wearing at the time, generally PJs in cold weather, nighties when it was warmer, and I finally graduated to my unadorned birthday suit around the age of10 when a heatwave triggered an almost overnight family-wide transition to naked sleeping. But that's another story!

Pricelessadvice · 03/05/2026 18:34

Yes, always.

MJNewbie2026 · 03/05/2026 18:36

I don’t often wear pyjamas in bed, but if I do, I always wear pants

Jshkag · 03/05/2026 18:37

Yes, avoids a midnight wedgie

Xanadu58 · 03/05/2026 18:37

No

Porkpieandmustard · 03/05/2026 18:38

No but I wear clean pyjamas every night (or T-shirt and knickers if I run out.

Nope. Had this discussion with my teen DD recently and realised Ive turned into my own mother when I said ‘you have to let your foof breathe’. I was always told that without air flow you’re more likely to get thrush. Whether it’s true or an old wives tale, who knows.
I’ve only ever worn underwear with PJ’s if I needed a nighttime pad (mainly post birth) and that’s so uncomfortable.

Old wives tale.

TheseWordsAreMine · 03/05/2026 10:58

No pants mean no skid marks.

Have you a problem with incontinence?

Astra53 · 03/05/2026 19:12

Yes to cotton pants with PJ bottoms or shorts.

intrepidpanda · 03/05/2026 19:25

No. You need to air.

intrepidpanda · 03/05/2026 19:29

I always got told wearing pants to get gives you thrush
I don't wear pants and I dont get thrush.
It seems many MNs DO wear pants and MNs are notorious for getting thrush.
Scientific study complete.

MildlyAnnoyed · 03/05/2026 19:29

No, I don’t. I have a clean pair of pj’s each night.

We literally had this exact topic a few months ago

Zanatdy · 03/05/2026 19:32

Yes, always wear underwear under PJ’s.

LaburnumAnagyroides · 03/05/2026 19:32

No, never. I find pants under PJs really uncomfortable.
