Would you eat this??

Chicken burger with salad and chips purchased yesterday around 6pm. Intended to eat it straight away but didn't because something urgent came up unexpectedly. Put straight in the fridge. Still there now.

Would you eat it tonight?

I would not be concerned about food poisoning so yes from that perspective. But otherwise, no, because eating yesterday's burger and chips sounds minging.

Not the salad because that probably would have gone limp. But if 100% nuke the rest in the microwave and eat it

I just feel very guilty about food waste, even if it's not healthy food!

Bleugh! Limp lettuce, stale bread, chewy burger, flabby chips. No way would that taste anywhere near as good as freshly prepared.

Bin it.

CurlewKate · 28/04/2026 14:38

Why wouldn’t you? Presumably everyone occasionally eats ready meals? Bin the salad and make fresh. Put the burger and the chips in the air fryer. Reconstruct.

7238SM · 28/04/2026 14:39

What is the concern OP? Yes I'd eat it.

I thought you were going to say you left it on the counter for 2 days with flies buzzing around it, you are pregnant and wondering if you should eat it! 🙄

wishingonastar101 · 28/04/2026 14:48

nope. grim.

MabelRoyds · 28/04/2026 14:50

God no.

As above.

Its fine and saves 1) waste 2)having to cook something from scratch.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 28/04/2026 14:56

Yes - use the air fryer to reheat it.

AgnesMcDoo · 28/04/2026 14:57

Not a chance

This- it’s really difficult to heat up a burger it somehow goes both soggy and hard

MissDixieVoom · 28/04/2026 14:57

Yes

Vodkamartini3olives · 28/04/2026 15:05

Yep,. I'd reheat in the air fryer so it's nice and crispy.

ginasevern · 28/04/2026 15:10

Can't believe so many people haven't done this! Yes of course I would if it's been in the fridge but the salad will probably need removing by now.

loislovesstewie · 28/04/2026 15:28

Definitely not.

momager1 · 28/04/2026 15:36

bin the bun if it has mayo on it.. if it is plain, give it a little dry fry in a pan. Bin the veg. If the bun is soggy already from mayo or sauces, just bin it and put the chicken burger and fries in the airfryer.. If you do not have a bun in your kitchen, toast two slices of bread and add mayo and maybe some bbq sauce to it. Maybe a melted slice of cheese, fresh tomato if you have it on hand. It will be fine, I also hate food waste but no way would I be eating a soggy bun or limp tomato or lettuce..bleurgh..but you can save (and maybe enjoy it!) Otherwise if the chips are not looking good enough, heat the burger, slap some tomato passata on it...some parm cheese and throw that on a couple bits of toasted bread for a chicken parm

Agree with this. It won't kill you but it'll be a pretty miserable meal

pizzaHeart · 28/04/2026 15:41

Do you mean you bought it cooked like from McDonald’s and then put it in the fridge because something came up?
Of course I would eat it, not salad probably but cold burger is fine imo, and I’m very very fussy even according MN standards.
I might reheat chips but I don’t usually bother about their texture.

Wallywobbles · 28/04/2026 15:43

At some point a chicken died for you to have that food so from that point of view I don’t understand how you could possibly justify wasting it.

This is exactly what I'd do.

SnappyQuoter · 28/04/2026 15:45

Salad lasts more than one day. Or is everyone going to the farm shop every morning to buy their lettuce leaves for that day?

And all the “just pop it in the air fryer.” 🙄 Not everyone has one. It is ok to still simply say “reheat it.”

Deadleaves77 · 28/04/2026 15:47

Yeah I would just reheat it
It might not be the tastiest thing ever eaten but it'll be fine. I think if your wasting perfectly reasonable food especially meat then you should feel a bit guilty
