I want to know how you open the kitchen draws under the sink

Keepgettingolder81 · 17/04/2026 07:40

That is in a beautiful area. Moors and Beach.

Think it’s ok…. The stairs go up to a single bedroom so it’s like a downstairs en-suite. It’s closed off to the rest of the first floor I think from floor plan?

I think this too, an upside down ensuite, not sure about the bath positioning. Surely you’d bang your head on the stairs unless you chose to have your head by the taps.

Blueuggboots · 17/04/2026 08:14

I was looking at the photos, going yeah? Yeah? Yeah…..OOOHHHH. Ok. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

ParisIsMyGirlCrush · 17/04/2026 08:30

If you close and lock the door, it's just an ensuite for upstairs. There's a bathroom for everyone else next to it

Apart from the f off weird bog situation, christ it's cheap up north!! That would be triple the price in my area...

This is extremely cheap even for north! In my Yorkshire town this would be £400k or so.

TakeTheCuntingQuichePatricia · 17/04/2026 08:50

BerryTwister · 17/04/2026 07:29

@Halfblindbunny but surely the downstairs goes straight into that bathroom. ?

The stairs come up between the shower room and bedroom, not into the weird bathroom.

outdooryone · 17/04/2026 09:12

While odd, it is a practical use of space as an 'ensuite' to the attic bedroom...

I'm in the north too and you it would be the same price as your town here @TheGardenPond .

I suspect it is cheap because there probably won't be a great deal of employment nearby, seasonal jobs.

BillieWiper · 17/04/2026 11:36

That literally makes no sense?! I mean if they felt they desperately had to have it there at least shroud it with some kind of curtain or modesty screen?! It feels like you could be observed on the bog from about five different angles?!

Notmyreality · 17/04/2026 11:39

What’s the issue - it’s just an en-suite to the attic bedroom. Only person using it would be the occupier if the bedroom. It’s a clever use of the available space.

This. My first thought to.

If you disregard the notion that toilet use should be private.

Notmyreality · 17/04/2026 11:47

How is it not private? It’s in a private en-suite behind a closed door?

It is private, as long as there is no one in the attic room.

Can you not read floor plans? It’s on the access to the attic room - it’s an en suite to the attic room. The 2 bedrooms on the same floor have a separate bathroom.

And yet in my area of Yorkshire it would be about £150k! You’re only going to get over 200k for a detached or very nice semi detached in my area!

Ah ok yeah. Thank you. There's no need to question me if I'm capable of reading things or not.

BikeShmike · 17/04/2026 11:59

I quite like it. It's quirky but in a good way.

outdooryone · 17/04/2026 11:59

Came back to say:

  • the ensuite arrangement / bath and shower room seems like it is cramming in more than the house needs really.
  • The garden seems to be an odd arrangement - seems to be in-line with the garage not the house.
  • Garage not mentioned on the description and garden layout makes me wonder if that is not included.
redboxer321 · 17/04/2026 12:02

I think the problem is actually the staircase. It would have been better if they could have put in low footprint staircase but probably couldn't because of planning.
And the flooring - you can't have carpet around a bog. Not in the 21st century.

MostlyGhostly · 17/04/2026 12:10

I have a reoccurring dream about desperately needing to use the loo in a place with lots of people mooching about and this is the only kind of set up available.
