DS asked for a Lindt Easter egg this year. It was £12! Even the Cadburys ones are £8.
Hoping to grab some cheaper after Easter 🤣

Give it a day ir so after easter then buy them half price.

Possibly where I live is unusual but half price Easter eggs post Easter hasn't been a thing for probably 10 years now

When my children were younger we got them every year then it just seems to stop

Maybe buying procedures have changed and the supermarkets no longer have excess stock. I suppose corner type shops might be different

There were none left in my local Aldi yesterday, the Easter section was filled with all kinds of random foods

I bought a Reese’s one in Lidl for £3 and Smarties and M&Ms in Poundland for similar prices, maybe £4 max.

I miss the Galaxy enchanted eggs.

And also ones with mugs and other stuff. Bring it back!

Picked up two M&M eggs for my nieces today for 30 quid. Tesco doing their usual two tier membership pricing as usual. I really should have grabbed my eggs earlier so I don't give Tesco and their two tier pricing any of my money. Will try and remember better next year.

£30!!!! Like I said Poundland had them for under £5!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2026 15:53

£2,25 for a medium twirl or malteaser egg in Lidl

lots of the smaller eggs for £1.25

shellyleppard · 04/04/2026 15:53

On the Iceland website it says large egg....but its really tiny. Shrink flation strikes again 😦

tinyspiny · 04/04/2026 15:54

Easter eggs have been on various offers in various shops for weeks and I don’t feel that they’ve been any more expressive this year

Glittertwins · 04/04/2026 15:54

Cocoa prices are going through the roof and buying eggs has always been the most expensive way to buy chocolate

Amblealongside · 04/04/2026 15:56

Cadbury's Creme Eggs were 20p each in Heron yesterday. Huge baskets of them!

I was really impressed with Lidl too, had I not gone to Poundland first I’d have gone to Lidl, much more choice.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 04/04/2026 16:47

Moser Roth and Fin Carrie both do Easter eggs or similar at Lidl and Aldi.

senua · 04/04/2026 16:48

I haven't bought Easter eggs this year. (a) I'm not paying that much money for (b) palm oil. <boak>

topcat2026 · 04/04/2026 16:50

They have always been more expensive than chocolate without the packaging. Why are you bothering with Lindt? A large Cadbury’s Easter egg is £4.50 at Sainsbury’s, which is completely reasonable.

Where did you see the Cadbury’s egg? Harvey nicks? Harrods?

Yes they had a huge selection. Far better then anywhere else and a decent price

Silverbirchleaf · 04/04/2026 16:53

I refused to buy £10 an egg for Easter. Didn’t realise it was due to increased cost of cocoa. Is that why all the chocolate products are reducing their cocoa content in ‘chocolate’?

Comtesse · 04/04/2026 16:53

Chocolate has gone up a lot in price - cocoa harvest has been bad I think?

DemonsandMosquitoes · 04/04/2026 16:55

I got caught out. Ten pounds for two medium eggs in Morrisons without a Morrisons More card! I stopped at customer services on the way out and got a refund.

Hillbilly · 04/04/2026 16:56

Cheap in Sainsbury’s. £2.50 for mini eggs one and £1.25 for chocolate buttons one. I have downsized this year!

BurntBroccoli · 04/04/2026 16:59

I bought some from Lidl that were £1.50 Rolo ones. Medium sized.

Pabbel · 04/04/2026 17:02

Wait until Tuesday , they will be half price 😄

purpleme12 · 04/04/2026 17:07

I think Easter eggs are the same price as last year

Craftysue · 04/04/2026 17:12

I've bought the the Scummy Bunny tins from Marks and Spencer this year. The Xmas version got good reviews and they seem to be better value than the eggs - my kids are in their twenties though!

Flowersandfauna · 04/04/2026 17:16

I think they’re all so boring and samish now, I had a beautiful swan one 50 years ago and still remember it!
Also what has happened to those lovely cellophane wrapped ones in beautiful mugs?

Laiste · 04/04/2026 17:18

B&M
I bought 11 Malteser eggs at .... £2.50 each i think. Not fancy but not too small.
