I did an online Asda shop and some items were missing from my shopping, I put in a refund request online but it was rejected. I’ve never claimed a refund from them before so not sure why it would be rejected. It was a big shop £150 and it was 3 items missing. Has anyone had this before with Asda?

Were they randomly missing (as in you went through your receipt against all the items received) or did you check the email that you get sent when items are on their way and they specifically say these items were not in stock? Because if that’s the case then they refund automatically in a few days so you don’t need to claim the refund yourself.

Takis · 27/03/2026 10:57

They said they were available but they were not delivered.

They said they were available but they were not delivered.

Call them and speak to someone. They can log everything on your behalf. I did this when my delivery pass never worked. They were great.

Call them and tell them you'd like a £5 voucher for being bloody inconvenienced!

Takis · 27/03/2026 11:24

Im not a fan of Asda but it’s very tricky to get a slot with Tesco round here so end up using Asda more these days. It said I could call them but the they will not be able to approve the request for a refund even if I do 🤔

What was the explanation given when they rejected it?

Were the items on the receipt you got and so you were charged for them? When I had missing items they refunded fine

But this won't help if for example the 3 items come to £10.

She's still out of pocket.

Yes I was charged but they weren’t in the shopping. Did you call them or was that online?

Oh ok how strange, I have never requested a refund before I can understand if it’s someone that does regularly 🤷‍♀️

No i mean an extra £5!

ErlingHaalandsManBun · 27/03/2026 13:05

Hmmm, I have used ASDA weekly for many years for my shopping and every now and again there will be items missing from the order that apparently have been picked and are available. I have requested refunds online and have always received the refund without fail.

What did you put as the reason for refund when you did it online? I assume 'missing item'?

Its very unusual for them not to agree to a refund in those circumstances.

Takis · 27/03/2026 13:09

Yes just put missing items

When handling refund requests, we look at things like:
• your previous orders
• your previous refund requests
• what items you are asking for a refund for
Based on these factors, we have decided not to approve this refund request.

To return an item you do not want from any further orders, please hand it back when you get your order. We will not charge you for items you hand back to the delivery driver or colleague at the Click & Collect Point.

Our call centre colleagues cannot approve your refund request for you if you call us. But, if you are not happy with this decision, you can still contact us to discuss it further.

Thanks,
Asda

Phone the store where the shopping came from and ask to speak to someone from th department. They may be able to sort the refund.

Have you requested refunds in the past?

No I’ve mentioned multiple times that I’ve never asked for a refund before
