Help me find my engagement ring

Im absolutely devastated.

I can’t find my engagement ring anywhere. I’ve got my wedding ring (which is a plain white gold band) but cannot find the engagement ring. It wouldn’t be of any value really, white gold 1/4 carat diamond, but I’ve informed local jewellers and those kind of shops that buy and sell second hand jewellery.

I only take it off if I’m making meatballs / cooking with raw meats, or doing my nails but I cannot even remember taking it off so where it has gone is a real mystery.

I’ve got ring holders at all sinks in the house and by my bed and it’s not in any of them. It’s not in any coat pocket, or in my handbag.

Any other ideas of where I should be looking? No matter how silly they sound, I’ll look anywhere.

Have you had gloves on recently, could it have got pulled off when you took it off and still be inside?

@FionnulaTheCoolernope, just went and pulled my gloves out of my work bag and it’s not there 😭

Fallen in the bin? My husband lost his ring there once.

I took mine off recently when I was cooking and lost it.. I found it in the bin, check there.

Apron pocket

My dad lost his behind the radiator where the hand towel was hanging (washed his hands after the toilet and must of fallen off whilst drying his hands)

I recently found mine after losing it for three years. It was in a box under my bed but right in the very middle. It’s a divan bed and never moved. Worth a look?

Is it a loosely fitting one? I once lost my wedding ring & found it 6 months later in my daughter's toy box it must have slid off my hand - I'd just washed my hands and they were still wet when she called me into her room and lost it then. Friend of mine found hers in the freezer behind the peas - she'd been rummaging around in the freezer and it came off without her realising it had gone at the time - took a few weeks to find it because who would look in the freezer?! Hope you find it x

Dressing gown pocket? That’s where I found my watch recently after a frenzied, hour long search of the house. 😱

Check the sleeves and inside any clothing you've worn incase it's caught on a thread. Also any childs clothing if you have helped them get ready.

Turn lights off and shine a torch around , see if it will pick up the diamond.

Check under the ring dishes , might have slipped.

Ask any small kids...I hid my mother's purse in a saucepan but nobody asked me if I'd seen it.
Under a pile of paper work or magazines?

My husband found his in the freezer!

Also makes sense to look all around where your nail stuff is/where you do your nails, and around the cooking area.

Found mine got caught in the rubber thing of the washing machine. I had put it in my trouser pocket and forgot before putting them in the wash

Try the washing machine. Mine"s slipped off a couple of times when loading clothes.

If recently, retrace in your mind where you've been since, and how you behave in each situation.

Could it be in the bed? Somehow came off as you slept?

It's a horrible feeling losing something, especially when it's precious. Have you taken the sofa apart in case it slipped down the side of the seat cushions? Maybe in the Ubend of the kitchen sink? Have you got a tiddler who may have found it ad been playing with it?

My husband managed it twice !

My mum lost hers in a chest freezer and I lost mine in a kids clothes drawer - mum thinks her hand got cold and ‘thinner’ so hers fell off but with me, we have no idea but I found it months later when I was sorting out clothes that had been outgrown - agree with using a torch and getting down on the floor so see if it’s under anything as the light will catch and reflect with the diamond

Go through the contents of the vacuum cleaner.

Does your washing machine have a coin trap? I lost mine for 10 months, then found it when I needed to drain the washing machine. I worked out I must have stuck it in my jeans pocket before doing an energetic activity at kids club, in case it flew off. I then put the jeans in the wash forgetting the ring was there.

If all else fails buy a metal detector
