Ours has gone up £17 a month to £267pcm. London Borough.

Parky04 · 20/03/2026 17:56

4.99%. We have decided not to spend a penny on any hospitality for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, we have had to stop all of our monthly charity donations. It's going to be a tough year.

PurpleNightingale · 20/03/2026 17:57

Ours has gone up £211 for next year! Band C house in South London. There was a similar rise last year as well- it's disgusting. They took the full 4.99% they could apply, the bastards.

Extra £200 for the year, now £4300 per year. Scandalous what is paid out for any type of social care.

Nevermind17 · 20/03/2026 17:59

It’s gone up £211 to £4,244 a year. NW England.

XenoBitch · 20/03/2026 17:59

Mine has gone up £9pm. Band B. I get CT support and single person discount.

BananaSkinShoes · 20/03/2026 18:03

We’re band F and I think ours has not gone up much. Maybe £12 a month. Not bad at all.

Didimum · 20/03/2026 18:05

Mine went up £180 a year. It’s now £4750 a year in total.

In Cheshire East and my band B home is now £1920. When I came to this house 9 years ago to this very day, it was £1178. Annually.

wyntersky · 20/03/2026 18:07

Toddlerteaplease · 20/03/2026 18:37

£60 more.£161 monthly with single discount. Band B, Not impressed as it’s one of the most expensive in the country and the city is a dump and the roads appalling.

TooTiredToType77 · 20/03/2026 18:38

2%

PoemsForTea · 20/03/2026 18:44

Mine has gone from £230 to £242. What grips my ass the most is i private rent in a cul de sac of 12 homes. Mine is band D (presume it got re assessed when it became a rental) Every other house on the street is Band C 😡

Can’t that be challenged?

It's the cost of social care, which I am very happy to fund.

BatchCookBabe · 20/03/2026 22:37

£400 a year rise. Nearly £3000 a year now. Fucking scandalous. They can't even fix the bastard potholes. Hmm

purpleme12 · 20/03/2026 22:43

It's gone up by £67
It's £132 a month from April (going up £7 a month from last year)
It's a lot for one person to pay on a not high wage

feellikeanalien · 20/03/2026 22:53

Band A. Has gone up £270 per annum. And we're reliant on oil central heating and live rurally so being stung with petrol rises. I think I'm just going to go to bed and not bother ever getting up again. I am so pissed off.

1apenny2apenny · 20/03/2026 22:53

5% most of the money is on adult social care which is only going to get worse. It’s ridiculous. I used to work for a council the waste is eye watering.

happilypickled · 20/03/2026 22:57

About £150 and nearly £4000 a year now. Honestly don’t know how we can afford life these days… we live in a 3 bed house. It’s crazy!

Ihad2Strokes · 20/03/2026 22:59

BackIn20 · 20/03/2026 17:27

5% extra demanded by a council which doesnt even collect our fucking recycling (Birmingham).

They've paid off the deficit though! Because they haven't paid the binmen.

I may be cross.

Understandably!

Ihad2Strokes · 20/03/2026 23:00

Getamoveon2024 · 20/03/2026 17:45

An extra £71….per MONTH!!!!! 😱😱

Big house?

NoWordForFluffy · 20/03/2026 23:01

Band D, NW England. From £244 to £256 per month (10 months). Other than £260 for the first payment. It's 4.99%.

Brownbananaspot · 20/03/2026 23:02

Ours has gone up 5%. As I also work for the council and haven't had a pay rise in years, it's a double whammy for the likes of me.
