Love tinned fish!

If you're going to Europe beforehand they do some different sardines types like lemon and chilli in their supermarkets.

Otherwise general supermarkets here have loads of decent stuff assuming you are on the UK.

Portuguese Bacalhau. Massive variety available. I’ve only ever bought directly from Portuguese delis, but it must be available online.

There’s a fantastic bloke who films himself and his dog opening tinned fish!

Massively popular too.

I bought DH some Tinned Fish from the website linked above. We all ooh’d and aaah’d whilst opening.

Let us decant the tin!

If you know anyone going to Lisbon they have beautiful shops with lots of wonderful tinned fish in pretty tins.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Sea Sisters fish - especially their hake. I got DH a box of different ones for Christmas and he was delighted!'

I wanted to bring a case full of tinned fish from Lisbon! The tins themselves are works of art. I'd probably not eat the fish, but just display the tins!

Waitrose sell a good selection, the sardines in chilli are lush but sell out very quickly but that Borough Market selection looks amazing, they also do gift boxes, going to add to my Christmas list 😂

Cornish looks nice as well!

One word:

Surströmming.

I'll see your Surströmming and raise you Hákarl - Icelandic fermented shark, personally I would rather have Glenryk Pilchards, which seem to be no longer available.

Oddly enough I had tinned oysters from The Tinned Fish Market for Christmas lunch.

I’m pescatarian and have had a Tinned Fish Market habit for several years. I’d be mightily impressed if anyone gifted me a subscription or just a one-off delivery from them.

For the pp who asked about recipes, they have lots on the website.

My only objection is the selling of octopus. That should stop.

Not tinned, but these are also awesome and available from Sainsburys. Classed as oily fish along with mackerel, sardines, salmon, trout, herring, etc to keep your GP happy.

I read these articles recently, includes some more accessible and affordable options for people not looking to pay £12 plus delivery but want to try good canned fish.

However, when I was in Spain recently, I looked in both Mercadona and Eroski and couldn't find anything that looked sufficiently fancy, I did buy a couple of cans to bring home though.
