What’s your Friday night looking like?

mamaduckbone · 13/02/2026 18:15

I’m absolutely knackered after 2 nights of parents’ evening and a very wet and hectic last day of term, so this evening I’m celebrating the start of half term with a glass of red, a fire and control of the remote (Dh is out and ds16 will probably be in his room gaming)
Haven’t decided what to watch yet - I fancy a feel good quirky film if anyone has any recommendations.
What’s everyone else’s Friday night looking like?

Just had my tea. DC at their dads. Wine open! Watching Olympics skeleton and then will carry on watching how to get to heaven from Belfast.

ImDoneOnceAndForAll2 · 13/02/2026 18:18

Watching Winter Olympics...
Hockey right now...
Under a blanket, been snacking all day....

Latest series of 'slow horses' later

Wakemeupinapril · 13/02/2026 18:19

1000StrawberryLollies · 13/02/2026 18:20

I'm feeling end-of-half-term frazzled and am doomscrolling on my phone. Dh is about to make dinner. What I should be doing is packing. We are off to Spain tomorrow, and I'm so tired I can barely bring myself to look forward to it. It's also due to rain the whole time we are there...

EleanorReally · 13/02/2026 18:20

there is big hope in Matt Weston
i cant bear to watch

reversegear · 13/02/2026 18:20

I’m stuck in, my son is sleeping as he has nights my DH is away, I could nip to the pub but I decided to drink the Christmas Baileys and eat some after eights!! Oh and watch genius on catch up.

IDontHateRainbows · 13/02/2026 18:20

Lying in bed starting the semi-coma that follows busting a gut at work all week.

Looking forward to it!

wanderingstarz · 13/02/2026 18:22

Under a blanket,will have a drink soon.

Got soaked again! coming home from work. But half term next week,so yay! Will probably spend the evening scrolling the internet and watching TV.

justtheotheronemrswembley · 13/02/2026 18:29

Shattered after a week at work steering a new software implementation, telling the project manager what he's doing wrong and why, and what he needs to do to fix it.

DH will be home from work soon and he's picking up fish & chips on the way.

We might watch the Olympics on telly later on, but I might forego that as I quite fancy a long soak in a hot bath.

frozendaisy · 13/02/2026 18:35

Just having a chill on the sofa before I put in home made pizzas for me, H and eldest
H just took youngster out will have to collect in a couple of hours
then tv with chocolate

episode of Shrinking to watch

if you haven’t seen and want a quirky film Knives Out is great @mamaduckbone

I’m at our sons dance class, it finishes in about ten minutes, so I imagine they’ll be the longest ten minutes I endure. Its awkward timing as he can’t eat before it, but eating after is too late for our daughter, so we went lazy and got a takeaway that I can reheat for us two once we’re home. Once both the kids are in bed we’ll both treat ourselves to a glass of wine and some dark chocolate.

sugarandcyanide · 13/02/2026 18:48

Glass of wine, blanket, dogs and a netflix documentary. Husband is at work so just me and the dogs tonight! 🙂

Hatty65 · 13/02/2026 18:49

Looking fine. I've been out and about doing chores, a tip run and collecting some wallpaper today for the dining room, weather is dreadful. DH and I settled for some of yesterday's homemade soup, a sandwich and a belgian bun for tea because I couldn't be bothered to cook.

I'm under a blanket on the sofa, DH has made a fire and I'm thinking about catching up on Great Pottery Throwdown later on. DS (20) has gone out for the night with mates. Dog is snoring happily.

I used to love a Friday night down the pub, now I can't think of anything worse than having to go out in the evening. Particularly as it is raining.

Chinsupmeloves · 13/02/2026 18:50

Also a day of teaching then running DC about and walking dog, now wine open, oodie on, dinner cooking.

dadtoateen · 13/02/2026 18:52

12 hours at work, couple of pints at pub, came home for child to say hello can I have some money on my card…..
so just ordered a curry and gonna chill ☺️

youalright · 13/02/2026 18:53

We've just had a chippy hopefully get the youngest two in bed soon then a movie and early night its been a hard week.

purpleme12 · 13/02/2026 18:54

My child is being violent towards me. I'm the worst mum in the world. And she hates me. Over and over and over. Wonderful

Brightbluesomething · 13/02/2026 18:56

Also under a blanket on the sofa. DD is having a nap. Curry on order and I’d have some wine if I had any in. Serious failing on my part. About to resume my current box set. Off work for a week now so planning on fully relaxing and spending time with DD.

plentyofsunshine · 13/02/2026 18:56

Finished dinner just about to get in the hot tub with my current boyfriend and coffees and brandys

MiddleAgedDread · 13/02/2026 18:57

Busy weekend ahead so did some housework after work, just eating dinner and having a glass of red while watching the skeleton.💀

AgnesMcDoo · 13/02/2026 18:58

Watching the olympics. Have a cold coming on. Feeling a little bit miserable 🤧

TomatoSandwiches · 13/02/2026 18:58

DS18 made us a butter chicken for dinner which was lovely, I'm going to watch The Martian a bit later, highly reccomend.

the80sweregreat · 13/02/2026 19:01

Boring , not much on tv.
Have some wine, but it is a bit tedious!

Gorbie · 13/02/2026 19:01

Nothing very exciting, I'm post nightshift so surviving on 3 hrs sleep, I'm currently having a freezer ready meal for my tea while 1 child in the bath, the other one needs to follow. My husband is on a 10 hr round trip as my son is moving navy bases this weekend so he's picked him up with all his stuff to bring him home till Sunday when I suspect he may need to do the 8 hr round trip to take him to his next base and to get back in time for me to go back to work Sunday night so I can go back to work for my next nightshift. Never a dull moment in my house 🤣

SENcatsandfish · 13/02/2026 19:02

Rescued a stranded neighbour, cooked a dinner i didnt like. Been a very busy day. Im watching NCIS origins. Im going to do a quick house reset so I can chill out in peace
