Is it ever going to stop raining?

It's rained every day this year!

Paid to be anti-climate change? Tell me more....

And sorry to disappoint, I'm no conspiracy theorist. 👍

Sure, there are many countries that a sizeable proportion of their economy is based on selling gas and oil. And business that profit growth also relies on these. Burning gas and oil is major contributers to global warming. So through a supply chain they pay for anti climate change rhetoric to be spread as they don't want countries going electric and buying less of their gas and oil. So it's a reason why some messages on public forums that are anti global warming can be from people either directly paid by the supply chain, or from people that fall into the trap of believing things that have been posted in other places by these people.

You haven't answered the question....

I most certainly did.

You just dont like the answer because it doesnt fit your viewpoint. 🤷‍♂️

theagreementwas · 13/02/2026 10:44

It’s making me really depressed. We have to run dehumidifiers in every room, the clothes won’t dry even with that so need to use the tumble dryer daily. We have a very damp house so need to heat it as well and it’s so damp it’s frustrating and stressful

theagreementwas · 13/02/2026 10:45

Plus spiders . Too many they seem to love this weather or maybe they don’t maybe that’s why they are all in my house

ACatAsleepInYourHat · 13/02/2026 10:46

Ironically, I’m waiting for a guy to come and fix my leaking gutter. Which he can’t do because, of course, it’s fecking pouring down again.

Read what I wrote please. It was in specific reference to the tree molestors/ecolunatics who claimed (lie) that crops would fail due to heat.

There is no heat causing crop failure in the UK.

Quick Google search...

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/dec/04/record-heat-drought-2025-cost-uk-arable-farmers-estimated-800m-climate-crisis-grain-harvest

Climate change is also the reason English wine is getting better.

UK farmers lose £800m after heat and drought cause one of worst harvests on record

Many now concerned about ability to make living in fast-changing climate after one of worst grain harvests recorded

Mine moved out because it's too cold and damp and now I know where they went. Soz Blush

I have no idea OP but I'm sick of it. Would rather be cold but dry.

MiddleAgedDread · 13/02/2026 11:05

it's actually stopped here!! 😎

WaneyEdge · 13/02/2026 11:13

I think what @HelplessSoul is saying is that those of us who learned about global warming in school in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s were taught (as I remember) that the weather would become warmer and more akin to Spain/southern Europe. There was no mention of rain, certainly not in these quantities!

My DF is constantly saying “But it’s not cold!”, as if it being 3/4 degrees warmer makes any difference at all when it’s constantly pissing down.

I was taught that too but the discussion has moved on over the past few years to 'wetter, milder winters of course (milder also meaning warmer). Widely talked about in the news.

And we're really only at the start of things. Heatwaves will become more common here too.

Proof that global warming / climate change is all fucking bullshit.

We arent getting warmer. We are getting wetter. Where the fuck are those eco cunts now, who proudly proclaimed crops would fail due to heat?

Twats.

The climate emergency is causing UK winters to be warmer and wetter, and summers to be hotter and drier, broadly speaking. Flooding is a natural consequence which we've seen repeatedly over the past few years. Extreme heat and wildfires is another. The two are not mutually exclusive. Obviously this is a general trend so there will be times which buck the trend.

Westfacing · 13/02/2026 11:23

According to BBC Weather it's going to be dry and sunny in London tomorrow with temperatures 2-7 degrees. Normal service returns on Sunday with rain every day for the next two weeks 😬

CostadiMar · 13/02/2026 11:23

The last time we had enough snow in SE for a snowman was in 2022. I remember because my kids built it.

no, that is a side effect of global warming.
worse weather
more extreme weather

Drizzle is NOT extreme weather

I guess you didn’t study Geography at school?
The planet is naturally warming as we’re coming out of an ice age. The biggest issue; humans are speeding up a natural cycle which means species can’t adapt fast enough to meet the change. Global warming is real, it’s happening, by all means be an ostrich, but no matter how far down you stick your head in a hole, it doesn’t change the fact, weather patterns are changing and will continue to change. It’s essential we start to look after our oceans with much more care and attention otherwise, subsequent generations are going to be ducked. Cruise ships should be banned as they do so, so much damage to marine ecosystems, it’s these eco systems which have an essential role in storing and using carbon dioxide.

I really can’t believe there are people out there who lack such a basic level of understanding.

Global warming isn’t about everywhere getting hotter, it’s about a small change in earths temperature causing weather patterns to change …. like months and months of rain or months and months of drought.

Please tell me you haven’t told anyone in real life what you have put here because I’d be so embarrassed for you!

Im sure she'll survive

Isekaied · 13/02/2026 11:51

North west

It rains all the time anyway

I hadn't noticed it to be wetter than normal but maybe thats because were used to it.

Maybe it's just in the South you're used to dryer weather.

But here I'd say this is normal for us.

EleanorReally · 13/02/2026 17:28

i had rain first thing and rain on my way home, in between it was a lovely day!

Livpool · 13/02/2026 21:19

No - my asthma has been awful too. Fed up

I am in Liverpool and can’t remember it ever raining this much in winter in my 45 years. It is depressing

Warmer air holds more moisture, so it rains more.

warmer air affects the global air currents, hence why the current wet weather is sitting over us and not moving on like normal.

It was the wettest January in 120 years I heard the other day

Wintersgirl · 13/02/2026 21:24

Ugh, you expect rain in Winter and I usually don't mind but it's been non fucking stop for months now, day in day out, it can sod off, roll on Spring and Summer
