Crop yields over the last few years have been below average because of changes in weather patterns which is the definition of climate change. Wetter winters lead to planting delays and poor soil, then there are summer droughts (yes, there are) and unpredictable seasonal disruptions. Please don’t go about telling arable farmers (whose businesses are severely threatened) there’s no disruption to crop yields, unless you fancy being chased out of town by a John Deere.

I used to have a horse many years ago, I’m so glad I don’t anymore. It was such hard work in the winter, sinking in wet mud, filthy horse and rugs where she’d rolled, it was a thankless task.

I have three dogs now and they’re forever getting wet and muddy on walks and in the garden, it’s never ending. To be honest having 3 dogs is easier than a horse, and cheaper 😝

Looks sunny tomorrow for a change but then rain for the foreseeable thereafter… Apparently a bit of snow here in Yorkshire today too to add to the endless joy.

The rain is due to the jet stream, it's got nothing to do with global warming lol.

And the predictions we were all told at school was for warmer winters. We weren't told anything about wetter ones!

Our weather may decide to switch it up a bit today and snow for an hour before returning back to permarain.

You're showing a complete lack of understanding. But worse you're then broadcasting that and so others that are easy led might believe it. Yep global warming is a huge threat to billions around the world and you're willing to comment on something that you just feel rather than know and contribute to a narrative that puts those lives at risk as a result of inaction.

The constant rain fits with the pattern of milder wetter winters and hotter drier summers for the UK. Farmers can still suffer from wilting crops from extreme heat in the summer despite winter rain. In fact dealing with more extreme seasons will make hings much harder.

Also there is huge amount of variability in weather events therefore it's the long term trend that is considered as climate change. And he wet winter we've just had fits with that trend. It doesn't mean we won't have a dry winter in the future but it does mean that they will be less and less frequent over time.

The current rain is due to unusually cold weather in Scandinavia blocking the jet stream from drifting towards the Atlantic. It's got nothing to do with global warming.

The 'block' is set to lift shortly, and it will result in the normal cold weather we haven't been getting in February coming.

And then we can all moan about how cold it is!

We had some blue skies yesterday and snow overnight for a change! It’s meant to be cold and sunny tomorrow which I love.

I too am fed up OP. I’m in NI and we already get more than our fair share of rain, but this has been relentless. It’s due to be dry today and tomorrow here though. Then more rain.

Apparently the sun will come out at 2:00 today where I am! Sun goes down before 5 here though it’s not much. I’m planning to go for a walk to bask in it though.

And I'm sure all those billions are pinpointing my words in the crosshairs...

So what's your reason for peddling anti climate change rhetoric? Are you a conspiracy theorist? Or just want to believe it's not true as it suits your life for it not to be? Or being paid to be anti climate change- I'm not convinced it's that as you're not going about that in a way that suggest it would be that. Or just flippant and don't understand the impact of your words? Or just bored and wanting to start something off on Mumsnet to do? I assume it's the latter.

Who knows. You could argue we need it in this area as our reservoirs are still lower than normal for this time of year!!
